Working closely with Engineering, Operations and Quality functions, the role supports the successful development and introduction of new products by influencing componentand supplier selection, providing design-for-manufacture expertise, and ensuring supply chain considerations are embedded throughout the design process.\nThe position is responsible foridentifyingand developing capable suppliers, sourcing technically complex componentsand services, driving supplier performance, mitigating supply chain risks, and ensuring materials and components are delivered to the required quality, costand schedule commitments in support of defence and maritime programmes.\nResponsibilities will include:\nWork closely with Engineering to identifyand qualify suitable suppliers during the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring compliance with technical drawings, specificationsand programme requirements.\nLead componentand supplier sourcing activities, utilising technical expertiseto interpret SSC requirements and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and Expressions of Interest (EOIs)\nProvidetechnical guidance to internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure alignment with manufacturing capabilities, quality standardsand programme objectives. \nCollaborate with suppliers and Engineering teams to promote Design for Manufacture (DfM) principles, ensuring components can be manufactured and sourced efficiently and cost-effectively\nExpedite open purchase orders where requiredand maintainaccuratedelivery schedules within the LN ERP system. \nBuild and maintainstrong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. \nCreate and manage purchase orders \nProactively identify, manageand mitigate supply chain risks to minimise programme disruption and delivery delays. \nProvide regular progress updates and supply chain feedback to internal stakeholders for assigned suppliers and procurement activities. \nCollaborate effectively with Stores, Engineering, Operations and Quality teams to support programme delivery. \nEnsure all procurement activities are conducted in accordance withcompany policies, proceduresand governance requirements. \nNegotiate pricingand delivery commitments with suppliers to achieve business objectives. \nEnsure supplier compliance with applicable defence, quality, regulatory and security requirements, including the flow-down of customer and contractual obligations where applicable.\nUndertake any other duties required.\nQualifications and Experience:\nDemonstrable experience within a mechanical engineering, manufacturingor production environment; marine, defenceor aerospace experience desirable. \nExperience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and supplier selection processes. \nExperience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials and technical documentation. \nExperience using ERP systems such as Infor LN or equivalent. \nStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, machining, fabricationand assembly techniques. \nExperience in supplier management, sourcingand procurement within an engineering environment. \nExperience of European and/or international engineering procurement. \nStrong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. \nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. \nHNC/HND or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, manufacturingor a related discipline.\nApplicants must be eligible to obtain and maintainUK Security Clearance(BC).\nNote: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with UK National security clearance required for certain roles.*\nValues:Our people are our greatest asset, we continually strive to provide an excellent working environment to enable our team to do their best work.
