Alcoholic beverage service must be done responsibly and according to the law, while following local health department standards, Suburban Inns/Big E’s standards, and Suburban Inns’ Core Values, as well as going above and beyond to ensure that guests are 100% satisfied.\nBartender Essential Functions:\nGreet all guests in a friendly, positive manner. Ask questions of guests and make personal connections to make them feel they are welcome and valued\nEnsure all guests requesting alcohol have proper ID and are over 21 years of age\nAttempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons\nInspect bar prior to shift for adequate supplies\nPrepare garnishes, set up mixers, and pre-mixed drinks following safety procedures\nStock glasses, liquors, beers, and wines\nFollow setup procedure (well, ice, garnishes) upon opening the bar\nMix, prepare, and serve drinks according to the make recipes\nCollect payment for all checks to be closed\nResponsible for cash drawer reconciliation\nEnsure all orders are rung into POS system prior to making\nRun and cash out keno tickets\nResponsible for keno cash drawer reconciliation\nMaintain and clean bar area and equipment\nAdvise supervisor of any complaints as soon as possible, but also follow the One More Step guidelines by taking charge of the issue and offering solutions\nRequest supplies as needed\nClean and close down the bar at the end of the night according to procedures\nHelp with monthly cleaning and routine maintenance of bar equipment\nFollow proper “to-go” order guidelines\nFollow all Suburban Inns processes\nExhibit regular and recurrent attendance records\nOther duties as requested by management\nBartenderPosition Requirements:\nMinimum Knowledge: Requires ability to interpret / extract information and /or perform arithmetic functions. Good communication skills\nFormal Education and Job-Related Experience: None\nLicense, Registration, and/or Certification Required: TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol Certification (may be completed upon hire)\nWork Schedule: Work regularly requires or varies between day, evening, night, holiday, and/or weekend assignments. Schedule varies according to business demands and needs\nRequired Travel: Position does not require travel to other Suburban Inns properties or other locations. Work is completed on property.\nBartender Uniform and Appearance Guidelines:\nUniform: Uniform shirt and name tag provided. Suburban Inns approved blue jeans (see Uniform Policy) and black, close-toed, non-slip shoes are the responsibility of the Team Member.\nAppearance: Hair must be kept well-groomed. All facial piercings and tattoos that are not covered by a work uniform must be approved by management. Any tattoo that is deemed offensive to co-workers, guests, vendors or others in the workplace based on racial, sexual, religious, ethnic, or other characteristics or attributes of a sensitive or legally protected nature are not permitted and must remain covered or concealed at all times.
