Assist operations in improving warehouse management processes, utilizing techniques such as Lean and Six Sigma, to support service and cost management.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities:\nDevelop solutions by taking client information and creating process design, layout, labor model, cost structure, and optimal pricing such that it is profitable for Suddath and a superior choice for the client. Customer and facility visits may be required.\nAssist operations in developing systems to monitor the utilization of resources and current productivity and efficiency measurements. P&L, contract and billing review/ audits will be required.\nDesign and prepare statistical reports for measuring processes, productivity, and efficiency for senior management.\nAssist in development and implementation of cost-effective methods and procedures that will maximize productivity and efficiency utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodology.\nLead special projects in the operations to implement best practices in the warehousing/ logistics industry (example: efficient pick lines, optimal pick paths, batch picking for high volume customers, slotting of forward pick areas, etc.)\nPlan layouts of new and existing facilities. Review and recommend equipment provision. Prepare cost justifications as required.\nDevelop Engineering standards for major warehouse activities and develop standard labor rates based on the labor costs for each facility.\nJob Skills Required:\nAbility to develop logistics solutions for prospective clients, including process design, facility layout, labor model, cost structure, and pricing.\nWorking knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and their application to warehouse management and process improvement.\nKnowledge of warehousing and logistics best practices, such as efficient pick lines, optimal pick paths, batch picking, and slotting.\nAbility to analyze operational and financial data, including productivity, efficiency, P&L, contract, and billing information, and translate findings into action.\nAbility to develop engineering standards and standard labor rates for warehouse activities.\nAbility to design and prepare statistical reports for senior management.\nStrong written communication skills, with experience documenting design methodologies and responding to RFPs.\nAbility to develop and deliver presentations to clients, managers, and executives.\nDemonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.\nStrong organizational, planning, and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nAbility to work collaboratively with operations, senior management, and clients, and to travel for customer and facility visits as required.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion.\nOther Duties & Responsibilities:\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities required of the employee for this job. Green Belt or higher certification preferred.\nPosition requires one to be self-motivated and a team player\nStrong writing skills with experience documenting design methodologies to create logistics solutions and responses to RFP’s\nAbility to develop and deliver presentations to managers and executives\nLanguage Skills:\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, client contracts, and RFPs.\nAbility to write reports, design methodology documents, proposals, and responses to RFPs.\nAbility to speak effectively and deliver presentations to customers, managers, executives, and employees of the organization.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nMathematical Skills:\nAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as labor rates, costs, pricing, margins, P&L results, proportions, percentages, area, and volume.\nAbility to apply concepts of algebra, geometry, and statistics to facility layouts, labor models, and productivity and efficiency analysis.\nReasoning Ability:\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.\nAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\nAbility to analyze client information and operational data to develop logistics solutions that are profitable for the company and a superior choice for the client.\nAbility to evaluate processes, productivity, and cost data to identify and implement cost-effective improvements.\nComputer Operations:\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
