On site we have 5,600 m^2 covered manufacturing space including a machine shop, repair/assembly area and two pump test sites with power capabilities of up to 15,000 HP with 50/60 hertz speed.Summary:\nSulzer Pumps is seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager for our Burnaby, BC facility. Within your role, you will support the Project Manager with successful full cycle completion of assigned projects; from receipt of order, confirmation of shipment, through to receipt of payment in full from the customers. As an integral member of the team, you will ensure customers receive the best service possible, through effective communication, processing of orders, and the coordination of involved departments to deliver quality products, on time, in compliance to customer specifications and company policies and procedures. The Assistant Project Manager will function independently with direction and guidance from the Project Manager.\nIn this role you will be accountable for, but are not limited to:\nManaging orders and execution of order changes \nResponsible for documentation submittal to customers\nWill act as client central contact for all aspects of an order\nEnsures timely communication with customer on order changes and status updates\nPrepares progress reports, and interfaces with internal and external customers\nCoordinates with Accounts Receivable on collections from customers\nAssists PM with monthly forecasting of order closeout margin\nAssists with hosting/coordinating customer visits for witness tests, plant tours, etc. \nAssists with Process Improvement tasks \nPerform other duties as assigned.\nTo succeed in this role, you will need:\nOur Ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or equivalent education and work-related experience in a closely related field\n2-3+ years of Project Management experience in a manufacturing setting preferred\nExperience with pump manufacturing and direct tendering preferred \nAbility to understand financial aspects to maximize profits is an asset \nExperience with engineered products, quality principles, and related technical knowledge \nMust have high attention to detail and accuracy; ability to work to tight timelines\nMust have strong verbal and written communication skills \nAbility to tactfully work with internal and external customers \nDemonstrated computer proficiency; Experience with Microsoft Office Products is required; SAP experience preferred. \nLocation: We are based in Burnaby, British Columbia.\nMust be legally entitled to work in Canada; if selected, must be available for an in-person interview.\nIf you are interested in this opportunity, with proven expertise in this position, take the next step and make the most of your skills, apply today!
