Lead negotiations with key suppliers, drive productivity initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the company's financial and operational objectives.Key Responsibilities\nProcurement and Supply Management\nManage the procurement of assigned direct materials, indirect materials, and/or services.\nEnsure material availability in accordance with production and customer demand requirements.\nMonitor and execute supply plans to prevent shortages and minimize excess inventory.\nManage purchase orders and ensure compliance with supplier delivery commitments.\nStrategic Supplier Management\nDevelop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers.\nEvaluate supplier performance through quality, delivery, cost, and service metrics.\nLead supplier selection, qualification, and development processes.\nIdentify dual-sourcing opportunities and implement supply risk mitigation strategies.\nMonitoring of supplier payment processing.\nNegotiation and Productivity\nLead negotiations for pricing, contracts, and commercial terms.\nImplement cost reduction initiatives and improve Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).\nDevelop business case frameworks.\nIdentify opportunities for standardization, supplier consolidation, and specification optimization.\nParticipate in new product introduction projects and/or material - engineering change initiatives.\nInventory Management\nCollaborate with Planning and Operations teams to optimize inventory levels.\nDrive initiatives to reduce obsolete and slow-moving inventory.\nParticipate in reviews of planning parameters such as safety stock, MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity), and supplier lead times.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Logistics teams.\nSupport supply escalation activities and crisis management efforts.\nParticipate in continuous improvement and supply chain transformation initiatives.\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\nAnnual cost savings and cost avoidance.\nSupplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance.\nMaterial availability.\nInventory reduction and slow-moving inventory management.\nPurchase price variance.\nSupplier lead-time performance.\nSupplier quality metrics (PPM, claims, and corrective actions).\nContract and commercial agreement compliance.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.\n5 to 8 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or procurement.\nProven experience negotiating with domestic and international suppliers.\nKnowledge of material planning and inventory management.\nExperience in manufacturing, automotive, electronics, or industrial environments, as applicable.\nTechnical Knowledge\nProcurement and Strategic Sourcing.\nCommercial negotiation and contract management.\nSupply Chain Management.\nInventory management.\nERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE, or similar).\nAdvanced Excel and data analysis skills.\nCompetencies\nNegotiation and influencing skills.\nAnalytical thinking.\nResults orientation.\nSupplier relationship management.\nProblem-solving.\nEffective communication.\nCross-functional leadership (without direct authority).\nAdditional Senior-Level Responsibilities\nLead critical spend categories for the organization.\nServe as a mentor and coach to junior buyers and purchasing specialists.\nLead regional and global productivity initiatives.\nPresent sourcing strategies and procurement results to management and senior leadership.\nDefine and implement supply chain risk mitigation strategies.\nWhat we offer you\nSalary according to experience\nLife insurance\nSavings fund\n30-day Christmas bonus\nMajor medical expenses insurance\nInteraction with international team\nCareer growth opportunities\nBenefits above the law\nSulzer is an equal opportunity employer.
