This role is primarily based on-site, splitting time between hands-on mechanical work, shop inspections, precision measurements, engineering documentation, and occasional field service overhauls. You will serve as the technical point of contact for customers and work in close coordination with our repair shop, machine shop, and internal quotation teams to drive heavy rotating equipment repairs from teardown to assembly.\nLocation: Pasadena, TX Service Center (with up to 40% field service assignments)\nKey Responsibilities:\nSupport day-to-day shop and field operations, including rotating equipment inspections, teardowns, repair evaluations, and hands-on overhauls (with field service assignments up to 40% as required).\n\nCollaborate with the machine shop, quotation team, and internal stakeholders on mechanical findings to define accurate repair scopes.\n\nPerform or verify precision measurements using micrometers and calipers, document findings clearly, and complete assigned tasks on schedule.\n\nCreate and update CAD drawings (SolidWorks or Autodesk) to document design or repair changes for customer review.\n\nAct as the primary mechanical point of contact for customers during on-site inspections and repair evaluations.\n\nRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nPreferred Background (3+ years total across one or more areas):\nRotating equipment repair or overhaul\n\nRotating equipment manufacturing\n\nRotating equipment package design and assembly\n\nField service for mechanical equipment\n\nVibration analysis or diagnostics\n\nTechnical Skills & Knowledge:\nProficient with CAD software (SolidWorks or Autodesk)\n\nWorking knowledge of: Rolling element bearings and sleeve/babbitt bearings. Mechanical seals and oil seals. Shaft alignment.
