The role develops and executes sourcing strategies, manages supplier relationships, negotiates commercial agreements, ensures material availability, drives cost competitiveness, and supports operational excellence across manufacturing, projects, services, and regional operations.The position works closely with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure reliable supply, risk mitigation, and achievement of business objectives while maintaining compliance with Sulzer policies and ethical sourcing standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nStrategic Sourcing & Procurement\nDevelop and execute procurement strategies for direct materials, indirect materials, and services.\nLead supplier selection, qualification, and development activities.\nDrive competitive sourcing initiatives to improve cost, quality, delivery, and service performance.\nEstablish and maintain long-term supplier partnerships across the Americas.\nNegotiate commercial agreements, pricing, payment terms, and contractual conditions.\nSupplier Management\nMonitor supplier performance through defined KPIs and scorecards.\nConduct supplier business reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.\nDevelop supplier risk management and business continuity plans.\nIdentify alternate sourcing strategies to reduce supply chain risks.\nSupport supplier audits and qualification processes.\nCost Optimization & Value Creation\nLead annual productivity and cost reduction initiatives.\nSupport value engineering and product cost optimization programs.\nIdentify opportunities for working capital improvements through procurement actions.\nMonitor commodity trends and market conditions impacting procurement costs.\nDeliver annual savings and cost avoidance targets.\nProcurement Operations\nEnsure timely procurement of materials and services required for manufacturing, projects, and service operations.\nManage purchasing processes and procurement governance.\nEnsure compliance with delegated authority requirements and procurement policies.\nDrive purchase order accuracy and supplier delivery performance.\nSupport inventory optimization initiatives in coordination with planning teams.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and Logistics teams.\nSupport project execution through procurement planning and supplier management.\nParticipate in S&OP and business planning processes.\nEnsure procurement alignment with operational and commercial priorities.\nCompliance & Risk Management\nEnsure compliance with Sulzer policies, trade regulations, and applicable legal requirements.\nSupport IMMEX, customs, and regional trade compliance initiatives where applicable.\nImplement sustainable sourcing practices and ethical procurement standards.\nManage supplier-related risk assessments and mitigation plans.\nContinuous Improvement\nStandardize procurement processes across the Americas region.\nPromote digital tools, automation, and procurement analytics.\nLead process improvement projects focused on efficiency and compliance\nProcurement cycle time\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.\nMBA preferred.\nMinimum 8-10 years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.\nExperience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, refining, petrochemical, process industries, or related sectors.\nDemonstrated success leading strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.\nExperience managing suppliers across multiple countries.\nKnowledge of international procurement and
