We specialize in the repair, overhaul, and replacement of components for high-speed rotating equipment including steam and gas turbines, compressors, expanders, and other industrial machinery. Our customers serve the Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Petrochemical, Ammonia, Nitric Acid, Fertilizer, and Power Generation sectors.\nPosition Summary\nThe Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and Sulzer quality procedures.\nThis role partners with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Quality teams to improve process capability, reduce defects, strengthen inspection and testing practices, support audit activities, and drive corrective actions. The Quality Engineer serves as a key resource for root cause investigations, supplier quality, quality planning, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.\nKey Responsibilities\nQuality Assurance & Process Improvement\nSupport the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and process controls.\nMonitor manufacturing, repair, assembly, and field service activities to ensure compliance with quality standards.\nAnalyze process performance data and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and reliability.\nSupport Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nAssist with standardizing best practices across operations.\nRoot Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions\nLead investigations into non-conformances, customer complaints, warranty claims, and quality escapes.\nFacilitate root cause analysis using methodologies such as:8D\n5 Why Analysis\nFishbone Diagrams\nFault Tree Analysis\nFMEA\n\nDevelop corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify effectiveness.\nTrack corrective action closure and ensure sustainability of improvements.\nQuality Control & Inspection Support\nDevelop inspection and test plans for new and existing processes.\nReview quality documentation, inspection records, and manufacturing reports.\nSupport as needed dimensional inspections, welding quality requirements, assembly verification, and final acceptance testing.\nEnsure traceability, calibration, and documentation requirements are maintained.\nAssist in resolving quality issues identified during production or customer inspections.\nCustomer Quality Support\nSupport customer audits and customer quality reviews.\nParticipate in customer concern investigations and corrective action responses.\nMonitor customer quality metrics and identify improvement opportunities.\nAssist in preparing quality reports and performance presentations for customers and leadership.\nAudit & Compliance\nParticipate in internal, external, customer, and certification audits.\nAssist in maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable customer requirements.\nSupport audit preparation, documentation reviews, and corrective action implementation.\nEnsure quality records are maintained in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.\nData Analysis & Reporting\nCollect, analyze, and present quality-related data and key performance indicators.\nGenerate reports related to:Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)\nCost of Poor Quality (COPQ)\nWarranty claims\nSupplier performance\nCorrective Actions\n\nUtilize Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Qlik Sense, or other reporting tools to support decision-making.\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical discipline.\n3-7 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Continuous Improvement, or Quality Assurance within industrial manufacturing or repair environments.\nUnderstanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.\nExperience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.\nPreferred\nASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or willingness to obtain certification.\nLean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.\nExperience supporting rotating equipment, turbomachinery, repair operations, machining, welding, or assembly processes.\nFamiliarity with customer quality requirements in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation, or Industrial sectors.\nExperience with Power BI, Qlik Sense, Minitab, or statistical analysis software.\nWhat we offer you\n15 days of paid time off and 12 company-paid holidays\n401k plan with a 6% match\nComprehensive health plan including medical, dental, vision, Life, short-term & long-term disability\nHealth savings account matching\nMotivating wellness program\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid paternal leave\nGym reimbursement\nSulzer is an equal opportunity employer.
