Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.\nAbout the role\nSafety Officer - NigeriaAs a key member of the Services Safety team, you responsible for the implementation and maintenance of SHE Management System in the Plant and also interacting with various oil and gas clients\nKey Responsibilities\nTo establish, document and maintain an effective and legally compliant. Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems when appointed.\nTo meet the Environmental Standards according to the defined regulatory standard.\nEnsure that all contractors complies to Sulzer’s health, safety and environmental standards.\nTo implement a robust health and safety hazard identification strategy through audits, site management walks, site inspections etc.\nTo work closely with the site supervision to promote a safe working area and safe working practices (hands on approach).\nReview and update the ISO 14001, ISO 45001 SHE Management System procedures.\nTo regularly review the effectiveness of the system and make improvements as required.\nTo collate and publish Health and Safety Statistics and as required present these to client and Sulzer management.\nTo raise awareness of the environmental impact of activities and seek ways to operate more efficiently and with less use of resources.\nTo lead SHE campaigns and meetings at area of responsibility.\nUpdate the risk assessments and facilitate new risk assessment review process.\nReview all legal appointments monthly.\nReview all contractor SHE files monthly and conduct routine sites inspections.\nEnsure that Lift Plans are in place and all HHA work is assessed and recorded\nMinimum Requirements\nQualifications\nDegree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from a recognized institution.\nNEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC).\nISPON Level 2 and Level 3 Certification.\nISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification.\nISO 45001 Management System Certification.\nIncident Investigation Certificate.\nFirst Aid Certificate.\nValid Driver's License.\nNEBOSH Diploma will be an added advantage.\nExperience\nMinimum of 5 years' practical SHE experiences.\nExperience within the oil and gas industry.\nExperience working in electromechanical environments.\nExperience engaging with government regulatory authorities.\nExperience managing client SHE requirements and audits.\nPlant and offshore experience will be advantageous.\nWhat we can offer you\nThe opportunity to work for a global industry leader with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and innovation.\nExposure to diverse projects within the oil and gas and electromechanical sectors.\nContinuous learning and professional development opportunities.\nA collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages initiative and growth.\nThe opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to strengthening safety culture and regulatory compliance across our Nigerian operations.\nThe chance to work with experienced professionals and global SHE networks.\nA role that offers autonomy, responsibility, and the ability to drive positive changes within the business.\nWhat we offer you\nMedical Aid\nProvident Fund\nSulzer is an equal opportunity employer.
