Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.\nAbout the role\nThe Application Engineer develops technical proposals for projects including proposing modifications to the standard design and configures the using design and costing tools. Works independently and develops technical responses to the customer.\nEssential Functions:\nApplies in-depth knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.\nScreens customer's inquiries to ensure they contain all information required to submit a quotation.\nLiaises with sales /customers to obtain any missing information.\nCollects, understands, and interprets customer’s requirements for new and/or operating data from customer’s existing systems \nDevelopment of the technical proposal/quotation, including equipment description and specifications, and reviews and negotiates necessary technical revisions with the customer.\nResponds to questions and inquiries from the customer regarding technical problems and issues that arise and provides related technical support or assistance, in a timely manner.\nUpon customer order, reviews/approves the scope of supply and creates job file per Sulzer specifications.\nUnderstands and provides solutions to large and/or complex problems\nRequires independent judgement, initiative and sound decision making\nSecondary Functions:\nMeets with customers on-site, as required, to review specifications and requirements, present and discuss the company’s proposal, and participate in project initiation as needed.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering\n0-2 years’ experience in technical sales work with an understanding of how to interpret customer’s technical requirements\nBasic understanding of unit operations and wastewater analysis\nConceptual system aptitude\nExcellent communication skills\nSelf-motivated and takes initiatives\nStrong planning and organizational skills\nOpen to learning\nTravel: This position will not require regular business travel but may be required to visit customers onsite as needed.\nWhat we offer you\n15 days of paid time off and 12 company-paid holidays\n401k plan with a 6% match\nComprehensive health plan including medical, dental, vision, Life, short-term & long-term disability\nMotivating wellness program\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid paternal leave\nGym re-imbursement\nSulzer is an equal opportunity employer.
