Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.\nAbout the role\nJob SummarySulzer is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor, who will oversee the daily operation of the Sulzer Site within the Eskom Power Station perimeter. This includes ensuring that the site is maintained to uphold the Sulzer brand image, comply with the OHSA No.85 of 1993 and Regulations, all accounts owed to the client are serviced and Sulzer specific policies are adhered to.\nMain Roles and Responsibilities:\n1. People Management - Manage the site employees to ensure that all outcomes of the Eskom contract are met. This is not limited to but includes time keeping, resource management, disciplinary action and succession planning.\n2. Client Interaction - Work closely with the client representatives of the various departments to meet the outcomes set out in the Eskom contract. This will include but is not limited to attending all required meetings as arranged by the client, setting up meetings for client-contractor interaction, written communication in the form of letters, spreadsheets and e-mails, telephonic communication and commercial engagements.\n3. Management Interaction - Work closely with the field service manager and other site supervisors to achieve the outcomes of the Eskom contract and other initiatives as instructed by senior management.\n4. Meetings - Attend and participate in all required meetings initiated by the Client, Sulzer Management and Subcontractors. Take minutes and be accountable for agreed actions. Initiate meetings with Subordinates, Subcontractors, Client and Sulzer Management for operational requirements.\n5. Site Administration - related to the daily operation of the site and employees. This will include but is not limited to:\nManaging work time of all subordinates\nManaging and maintaining good site establishment\nManaging the use of and maintenance of all site related vehicles, tools and assets. and accountable for all safety related administration of the site as per the requirements of OHSA No.85 of 1993 and Regulations, OHSAS 9001, 14001 & 18001 and all Sulzer’s Safety Requirements.\n6. Safety Management\nMaintain SHE File\nInspect work in progress ensuring that work done is done in accordance with the clients SHE Specification and all of the above-mentioned Acts and Standards.\nCompile Risk Assessments for all activities on the respective sites.\nDiscusses and review of Risk Assessments and procedures on an annual basis or when necessary.\nEnsure that all equipment, plant, machinery and vehicles on site have relevant certificates, tests, services, inspections, etc. as required by client and legislation.\nEnsure all personnel on site have the required training, induction, medicals, psychometrics, etc. to carry out their work.\nReport all accidents and near misses to senior management.\nAttends all the clients SHE Meetings.\nCorrect Unsafe Conditions on site.\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nMinimum 7 years’ Supervisory experience\nN6 Certificate or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering\nComputer literate in all windows, SAP and other necessary software\nQESH knowledge and experience\nP.S.R Authorization.\nTrade Test.\nComplete Reports i.e. Friday reports, Status reports with running hours.\nFailure reports with the help of our Engineers.\nCustomer Satisfaction Surveys.\nSulzer Compliance.in a supervisory role\nCommunication skills\nDrive & motivation\nNegotiating skills\nCommercial acumen\nInfluencing and persuasion skills\nRelationship management skills\nStaff leadership & management skills\nCustomer service mentality\nOrganisational skills\nProblems solving\nAbility to act independently\nFlexibility and ability to adapt to change\nAttention to detail.\nWork Environment\nWork between the factory and sites.\nApplicants must live within one or two kilometres of the site, if not, they must be willing to relocate\nTravel is an inherent requirement to the job.\nWork on standby.\nInterested employees who meet the above requirements are invited to submit their applications together with an updated CV . \nWhat we offer you\nMedical aid \nProvident fund contributions\nLife and disability insurance\nPaid annual leave and sick leave\nLearning and development programmes\nEmployee wellness initiatives\nSulzer is an equal opportunity employer.
