You will work closely with managers, partners and colleagues across the firm, building strong client relationships while developing your technical expertise across a range of accounting and tax matters.\nThe role would suit someone with experience in an accountancy practice who enjoys working directly with clients, has strong technical and organisational skills, and is looking to develop their career within a supportive and growing firm.\nKey Responsibilities\nManaging a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact for day-to-day accounting matters.\nPreparing year-end accounts for a range of businesses, including owner-managed and SME clients.\nPreparing management accounts and other financial information where required.\nAssisting with the preparation of corporation tax computations and returns.\nSupporting personal tax compliance work where relevant.\nReviewing bookkeeping records and resolving discrepancies to ensure the accuracy of financial information.\nLiaising with clients to obtain information, answer queries and ensure work is completed efficiently.\nSupporting managers and partners with more complex client assignments.\nMaintaining accurate working papers and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and requirements.\nManaging workloads effectively to ensure assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.\nSupporting junior colleagues and sharing knowledge where appropriate.\nSkills, Knowledge & Expertise\nPrevious experience working within an accountancy practice, ideally managing a portfolio of clients.\nAAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA, or equivalent practical experience.\nGood knowledge of accounts preparation and general accounting principles.\nUnderstanding of UK accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.\nExperience working with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.\nStrong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.\nExcellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nConfidence communicating with clients and colleagues at different levels.\nA proactive and collaborative approach, with a willingness to continue developing technical knowledge and expertise.\nBelong @ Sumer\nAt Sumer, we know everyone’s journey is different.
