The successful candidate will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, managing payments, and providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the accounts function.\nWith the business continuing to expand, there is significant scope to develop your skills, take on greater responsibility and progress your career while making a meaningful contribution to the company’s continued success.\nKey Responsibilities\nMonitor supplier invoices submitted through the company's invoice approval workflow. Review invoices for accuracy, completeness, correct coding, and supporting documentation before or during the approval process, as applicable. \nTrack outstanding supplier invoices and follow up with relevant budget holders or approvers to ensure timely approval.\nPrepare and process customer invoices and credit notes.\nMonitor outstanding customer payments and assist with credit control.\nReconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.\nPrepare and coordinate weekly supplier payment runs in accordance with agreed payment terms and company payment schedules.\nPrepare payment proposals for review and authorisation in line with company procedures and approval limits.\nProcess supplier bank payments as part of the regular payment run, ensuring payment details and amounts are accurate and in line with approved payment schedules.\nSet up new suppliers and vendors within the accounting system, ensuring all required information and supporting documentation are obtained and accurately recorded.\nCollating data for auditors, external tax consultants and grant authorities.\nAssist with VAT returns and other financial reporting requirements, where applicable.\nIdentify and implement opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and internal controls.\nAny ad hoc tasks to support the Head of Finance and Finance Manager. Provide general finance support to the Finance team. \nPreferred Knowledge / Skills / Experience\nPrevious experience working in a Finance role, particularly dealing with Accounts Payable.
