Although located at SEWS - Farmington HillsOffice, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work.Associates are required to work at least four days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.\nJOB TITLE: Design Engineer IV\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nThis is a hybrid work position following company policy (currently requiring at least four days in the office and one day working from home). Upon manager’s discretion, skill-development needs, project status, and other factors, employees may be required to work in the office all five days. \nLead, create, maintain and take ownership of fuse box 3D designs, design changes, and drawings using Unigraphics (NX).\nInterpret, maintain, and develop schematics and bills of materials (BOMs), and review them before release.\nCreate and maintain project timelines and due dates.\nSupport and conduct internal meetings and design reviews.\nInterface with customers and supplier(s) regarding meetings, design reviews, build support, FOT orders, etc.\nDevelop DFMEA, DVP&R, and 5P documents.\nInterpret and apply GD&T to SEWS drawings, and review them before release.\nTravel may be required (>10%).\nWork the team on Continuous Improvement Activities. \nQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.\nExperience in fuse box design and engineering.\nExperience with Unigraphics (NX) CAD is required.\n7+ years of engineering experience is a plus.\nExperience with Stellantis, Ford, Rivian, or GM is a plus.\nAbout Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.\nSumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.
