Associates are required to work at leastfourdays in the office each week butalso have theflexibility to work off-site.\nThis position is ideal for an HR professional who is looking to expand their impact across a broad range of HR functions including associate relations, recruiting, organizational development, communications, and associate engagement.\nWhile based in our Bowling Green Administrative Office, this position will support HR initiatives at facilities located in Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky. Limited travel of approximately 5-10% will be required as needed.\nThe HR Specialist will serve as a trusted resource to management and associates by fostering a positive work environment, ensuring consistent application of company policies and compliance requirements, and supporting programs that enhance associate morale, workforce development, and community involvement.\nKey Responsibilities\nServe as the Human Resources representative for SEWS Lexington and Louisville facilities, supporting associate relations and promoting a positive and productive work environment.\nProvide guidance and counsel to management regarding associate relations issues, workplace concerns, and consistent application of company policies and procedures.\nCoordinate and manage full-cycle recruiting activities, including sourcing, interviewing, reference checks, hiring, and onboarding.\nConduct new hire orientation and benefits enrollment to ensure a smoothand positive associate experience.\nDevelop, coordinate, and oversee associate engagement activities, company events, and community involvement initiatives designed to enhance morale and workplace culture.\nCoordinate workplace safety programs, including Safety Committee activities, accident prevention efforts, safety training, incident reporting, and investigations.\nMaintain OSHA-compliant safety records and administer workers’ compensation documentation and reporting.\nWrite, edit, and coordinate internal and external communications including announcements, newsletters, website content, and press releases.\nMaintain relationships with community organizations, local leaders, and media representatives to support community relations and public relations initiatives.\nAdminister the company’s Spirit for Education Scholarship Program, ensuring fair and consistent evaluation and selection processes.\nSupport organizational development initiatives and strategic HR planning projects.\nAssist with special projects and other HR-related initiatives as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a closely related field required \nMinimum of 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience \nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel \nExperience working with HRIS systems, preferably ADP \nExperience using applicant tracking systems, preferably Jobvite \nWorking knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs, including InDesign and Photoshop \nStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with associates, management, customers, vendors, and external partners \nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment \nAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information \nAbility to travel approximately 5-10% as needed\nAbout Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.\nSumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.
