This Hillsboro EHS Specialist role integrates fire safety oversight with broader EHS compliance, making it the relevant “EHS fire-certified” position in the provided data. Require fire safety knowledge, compliance, and emergency-response planning within an industrial setting.\nDescription of Tasks and Responsibilities:\nDevelop & implement U.S. EHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with federal OSHA, Oregon OSHA, and applicable fire, hazardous-material, and environmental regulations\nEnsure compliance with fire safety codes, hazardous-material handling rules, and environmental standards.\nSupport Class 1-1,000 cleanroom, laboratory, and semiconductor-equipment operations - including process chemicals, exhaust systems, utilities, and contractor coordination\nLead chemical safety, hazardous-material, and hazardous-waste programs - including fire-related incident response coordination.\nConduct audits, risk assessments, job-hazard analyses, incident investigations, and corrective actions.\nDevelop employee EHS training and emergency-response programs (including fire safety and hazmat response).\nManage regulatory documentation, inspections, and corrective actions for fire and hazardous-material compliance.\nPartner with contractors and customer-site EHS teams\nParticipates in fire, emergency/rescue drills and other fire service training; keeps up-to-date on the latest trends, methods, policies, and procedures; takes periodic written and practical exams.\nAccurately prepares and develops reports and records as required.\nAssist with contractor safety management and onboarding processes.\nPerform additional duties and special projects as assigned.\nSkills and Qualifications:\nRecent college graduate with 0-3 years of Environmental Health & Safety, engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or related experience.\nInternship, co-op, or project experience in EHS, manufacturing, or engineering environments is strongly preferred.\nSpecial consideration given to those with 3-5 years’ experience/ working knowledge of Oregon/Washington County and city of Hillsboro rules, regulations, and certifications\nBachelor's degree in: Environmental Engineering\nSafety Engineering\nIndustrial Engineering\nEnvironmental Science\nOccupational Health & Safety\nChemical Engineering\nOr a related technical field\n\nPhysical Demands:\nAbility to manage physical lifting of multiple items up to 20lbs. occasionally\nAbility to push, pull, and carry up to 20 lbs. occasionally\nSitting and walking frequently\nStanding, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling and crouching occasionally\nWork Environment:\nMust be flexible with scheduling.
