(SEUK) is looking to strengthen its EPC project delivery capability in the UK and Europe.\nSEUK is seeking a Junior Planner to support the implementation and delivery of the Sea Link HVDC Interconnector project, supporting the \ndevelopment and management of the project’s integrated schedule.\nReporting to the Planning Lead, the Junior Planner will assist in the update and delivery of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), supporting \nalignment across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, offshore installation, construction and commissioning activities.\nThe role will support effective project implementation by providing clear schedule visibility, identifying potential delays and coordinating mitigation \nstrategies across the project organisation. \nThe successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Planner, project leadership team, subcontractors and client programme controls teams \nto support schedule integrity and accurate project forecasting.\nKey Accountabilities\nUpdate and maintain the project Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using Primavera P6.\nSupport integration of schedules across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, offshore installation, construction and commissioning activities.\nMaintain schedule updates aligned with contractual milestones and project delivery requirements.\nCoordinate schedule inputs from internal teams and major subcontractors and support their integration into the project master schedule.\nSupport schedule integrity and consistent planning assumptions across project workstreams. \nSupport project implementation through planning, scheduling and progress monitoring.\nIdentify schedule conflicts, bottlenecks and delays and support the development of mitigation or recovery plans.\nProvide schedule insights to support project leadership decision-making.\nAssist with updating resource and cost loading of schedules.\nMonitor progress against the baseline schedule and identify potential impacts on the critical path.\nSupport schedule forecasting, variance analysis and timely project reporting. \nSupport schedule risk identification, mitigation planning and schedule impact analysis relating to scope changes, variations or design development.\nWork closely with engineering, procurement, construction and commercial teams to ensure schedule alignment.\nSupport programme interfaces with major subcontractors, suppliers and installation contractors.\nWork closely with the Lead Planner and wider Project Controls team, including cost control, risk management, change management and document control.\nSupport the development of project performance indicators and reporting dashboards. \nEssential / Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Experiences\n1-3 years of experience in project planning or project controls within large-scale infrastructure, energy or EPC projects.\nAwareness of the development and management of integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.\nAwareness of coordinating schedules across multiple subcontractors and delivery partners.\nExperience or exposure to sectors such as subsea cable, offshore energy, oil & gas, power transmission or major infrastructure projects would be advantageous.\nAwareness of critical path analysis, schedule forecasting and schedule impact assessments.\nAwareness of construction contracts such as NEC and FIDIC would be advantageous.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capability.\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills.\nCommitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement. \n-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\nAbout our project in Port of Nigg, Highland\nSumitomo Electric is one of the leading global manufacturers of state-of-the-art high-end electricity transmission \ncables, up to and including 525kV HVDC(High Voltage Direct Current) cable.\nThe new factory at Nigg, with investment value announced by the Scottish Government of £350M, will make a \nsignificant contribution towards realisation of the UK Net Zero Target by contributing to critical electricity transmission\ninfrastructure to connect and deliver renewable energy, including offshore wind, to UK consumers and beyond. \nIn addition, the factory will create more than 150 highly skilled jobs in the Scottish Highlands, with maximum \nutilisation of the local supply chain for production of cables and construction of transmission cable systems.\nIn a significant boost for the UK green energy supply chain, Sumitomo Electric has commenced construction \nof its state-of-the-art subsea transmission cable factory in the Scottish Highlands. \nThe factory will supply critical elements for the reinforcement of the UK electricity transmission grid and for \nconnecting renewable energy production facilities to the grid.\nAbout Sumitomo Electric Group\nSumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. is a recognized global technology leader with over 290,000 employees working \nat around 400 group companies in 40 countries.
