The role of the Project Accountant has a variety of responsibilities, involving managing the financial activities of long-term high-value projects, ensuring accurate reporting, effective cost control and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.\nThe role works closely with project managers, finance teams and wider stakeholders to monitor project financial performance and support informed decision-making. Therefore, this role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys building relationships across different teams and using financial data to support successful project delivery.\nKey Responsibilities\nFinancial management and reporting of EPC projects from initiation to completion.\nMonitor project costs, commitments, accruals, provisions and actual expenditure against approved budgets. Identifying cost overruns or unfavourable variances.\nManage project P&L and work as a Finance Business Partner with project owners.\nTrack direct labour, materials, subcontractor costs, overhead, and other project-related expenses.\nSupport cash-flow forecasting and project financial planning.\nWork with Project teams to establish milestone/project completion % to recognise revenue.\nAssist with month-end and year-end financial close activities.\nManaging multi-currency reporting, FX exposure, and intercompany recharges.\nAssist with audits and provide financial information when required.\nProvide support to project teams in costing/accounting perspective at tendering stage. \nAny ad hoc tasks to support the Head of Finance and Finance Manager.
