This person will report to the Accounting Manager.\nJob Duties and Responsibilities\nFixed Asset Accounting: manage and oversee the accounting of fixed assets, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance with accounting standards.\nFixed Asset Tracking and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all fixed assets.\nDepreciation calculation: calculate and record depreciation for fixed assets that are in line with accounting standards and company policies.\nAsset Capitalization and Disposals: Ensure proper capitalization of new assets and follow accounting policies regarding capitalizing versus expensing. Record asset disposals, sales, and write-offs, ensuring appropriate gain or loss recognition.\nTax Compliance: Prepare asset register to assist in preparation of tax filings\nCIP: tracking and managing the costs associated with CIP projects, maintaining accurate recording of expenditures, capitalizing costs when projects are completed and confirming costs are properly classified. \nMonth-End Close: calculate and post monthly recurring and miscellaneous journal entries. Update and analyze account analyses to ensure accuracy and consistency.\nBudgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.\nTax Preparation Support: Assist in annual preparation of NC property valuation used in assessing property tax due.\n Project Tracking: Maintain the accounting for tooling projects (X-Projects). This includes the recognition and deferral of tooling sales and expenses.\nPhysical Inventory: Assist in the planning, organizing and carrying out physical inventories of raw material, work in process, finished goods and selected supplies for all locations.\nReporting: Prepare and analyze daily and weekly reports as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor degree in business administration, preferably with a concentration in accounting.\nKnowledge of GAAP, especially in fixed assets.\nKnowledge of Accounting Software and skilled in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.\nCompensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, competencies and location.
