In this role, you’ll inspect, repair, and install Pre-Engineered Suppression Systems and associated Detection & Control Systems, ensuring everything is running safely, smoothly, and fully compliant.\nExperience with industry-leading manufacturers likeAnsul, Amerex, Pyro-Chem, and Range Guard is essential.\nJOB SUMMARY:\nThe purpose of the Fire Suppression Technician is to provide installation, inspection, service and/or repair of Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Exit Lights and/or any Pre-Engineered Suppression Systems including any associated Detection & Control Systems with minimal supervision.\nESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:\nUse required tools and test equipment such as power machines groovers, cutters, band saw, lifts, etc. to repair or replace fire extinguishers, pre-engineered systems, and/or Detection & Control systems components.\nComprehensive working knowledge of NFPA codes, standards, and systems such as all types of fire extinguishers, pre-engineered suppression systems and/or Detection & Control systems. \nTroubleshoot and identify defective components of pre-engineered suppression systems. \nRepair or replace damaged components of pre-engineered suppression systems as well as fire extinguishers and/or Detection & Control systems.\nCommunicate with internal and external customers in a professional manner.\nRequired to be punctual to required work locations and complete scheduled projects in timely manner.\nUse Field Service Lightning to track work orders, materials needed, time on job, etc. \nComplete documentation on work orders.\nUnderstand and follow SFS’s Safety program, SDS book, Hazardous communication program, policies and procedures. Participate in weekly Toolbox talks. Employee must always know location all related safety documentation on each project. \nEnsure company provided vehicle is clean and well maintained as required by company policies.\nPeriodically attend seminars or similar education/training sessions to stay abreast of latest technology, codes, and standards changes. \nOther duties may be assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nThe qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully, however in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications.\nEducation, Training, Certifications:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent, required.\nState or any required certification, preferred.\nExperience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:\n2 Fire Life Safety Industry experience specifically within Fire Suppression.\n2 years of professional computer skills.\nCommunication Skills:\nMust have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.\nOther Qualifications:\nValid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.\nMust be able to comply with SFS’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.\nMust be able to travel 90% of the time.\nPHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform Essential Job Duties.\nPhysical Requirements:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, ascend and descend step stools, ladders and stairs, kneel, lift 50lbs, sit, stoop, twist, and work at heights.\nWork Environment:\nEmployees will regularly be required to work outside, and be exposed to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards and noise.
