For more information, please see www.summitpartners.com/summit-careers and check us out on LinkedIn!\nThe Role\nSummit Partners is seeking an Associate, Human Capital to support the Talent team in building exceptional management teams and underwriting talent decisions across the firm’s Healthcare, Technology, and Growth Products & Services (GPS) practices.\nThis individual will partner closely with investment and portfolio teams to drive key aspects of executive search execution, talent underwriting, portfolio talent management, and market intelligence initiatives. In addition to strong execution, this role will help advance more structured, data-driven talent processes across the platform.\nThe Talent team operates as a centralized resource across practices, and this role will support a broad range of initiatives spanning executive hiring, talent diligence, portfolio monitoring, compensation benchmarking, network development, and firmwide talent programs.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nThis is an opportunity for a high-performing individual to take on meaningful responsibility within a dynamic private equity environment, with exposure to senior leaders and critical talent decisions. \nExecutive Search Execution\nDrive execution of executive searches in partnership with internal stakeholders and external search firms.\nMaintain real-time visibility into candidate pipelines, search progress, and next steps\nCoordinate across search firms, candidates, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient execution\nPrepare high-quality candidate materials and briefing documents\nSynthesize interview feedback and help guide decision-making\nEnsure consistent, high-quality execution across all searches\nTalent Underwriting & Diligence (Pre-Investment)\nSupport pre-deal talent diligence and underwriting efforts across the investment funnel.\nSupport pre-investment talent diligence, including research, assessment synthesis, and insight generation\nPartner with investment teams to evaluate management teams across healthcare, technology, and growth-oriented sectors\nDevelop perspectives on leadership strength, gaps, and hiring needs pre-close\nPrepare materials and insights for internal diligence discussions and Investment Committee review\nLeverage network and market data to inform underwriting decisions\nPortfolio Monitoring and Talent Support\nSupport ongoing talent management and performance tracking across portfolio companies.\nTrack and analyze CEO and senior executive performance across the portfolio, including quarterly updates and annual reviews\nMaintain structured records of executive assessments, development priorities, and performance insights\nSupport CEO evaluation, succession planning, and talent reviews\nTrack executive team composition, changes, and gaps across portfolio companies\nHelp build a more proactive, data-driven view of leadership teams and talent needs\nNetwork Development and Market Intelligence\nBuild and leverage Summit’s network to drive talent outcomes and generate investment insight.\nBuild and maintain relationships with executives, operators, and functional leaders across healthcare, technology, and growth-oriented sectors\nDevelop pipelines for critical roles (CEO, CFO, CRO, CTO, CPO, Board, and other functional leadership positions)\nLeverage the network to surface potential investment opportunities and generate market intelligence\nSupport investment teams by providing talent-driven insights across companies, subsectors, and themes\nConduct targeted research and market mapping across healthcare, software, internet, data infrastructure, and tech-enabled services ecosystems\nMaintain visibility into high-potential leaders and emerging talent across relevant sectors\nData, Systems, and Process Infrastructure\nImprove how talent data is captured, structured, and used to drive decisions.\nEnsure high-quality data capture and maintenance across Thrive, A5, and related systems\nDevelop and maintain consistent templates for tracking, feedback, and reporting\nImprove visibility into talent pipelines, search progress, and portfolio insights\nIdentify opportunities to improve workflows, data integrity, and execution speed\nCross Practice Talent Initiatives\nSupport broader Talent team priorities that create more consistency, leverage, and shared insight across practices.\nSupport compensation benchmarking across roles, companies, and sectors\nHelp maintain structured portfolio talent and compensation datasets\nContribute to executive network development, nurturing, and management across practices\nSupport portfolio-wide talent programs (e.g., high-potential executive initiatives)\nHelp standardize best practices, tools, and reporting across the Talent team\n\nProfile and Qualifications\n2-4+ years of experience in executive search, talent, recruiting, or related environments\nExperience within healthcare, technology, growth products & services, private equity, or related sectors is strongly preferred\nStrong ability to build, develop, and maintain relationships with senior executives; comfortable representing the firm externally with credibility\nDemonstrated track record of proactive networking and pipeline development across relevant sectors\nStrong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority workstreams\nDemonstrated ability to operate with ownership and drive execution in a fast-paced environment\nExperience working with executive search firms or within a private equity environment is a plus\nStrong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information into clear insights\nComfort working with data systems and structured processes; detail-oriented with strong follow-through\nA bit more\nThis role is based out of our Boston office, in the heart of Back Bay and in our New York City office. This role requires full-time in-office presence five days per week. You will have access to an onsite gym, catered breakfast and lunch, a fully stocked kitchen, and plentiful team and office events.
