The work is complex, expectations are high, and the environments we support require precision and thoughtful execution.\nWe specialize in enterprise-class Application Hosting, Managed Services, and Cloud Solutions, with deep expertise in compliance, security, and performance. Our focus is simple: make the complex manageable and deliver technology that works - reliably, securely, and at scale.\nSome product challenges reach beyond a single roadmap. They involve shared technology, competing priorities, and decisions that affect how multiple services work together.\nAs a Principal Technical Product Manager at Summit, you’ll lead complex initiatives across products and technical domains. You’ll work with product leadership and partners across Delivery, Sales, and Marketing to turn strategic direction into clear product decisions, coordinated plans, and measurable outcomes.\nThis is a senior individual contributor role reporting into the Head of Product. Your impact will come through technical product judgment, influence across teams, and mentorship that strengthens how Summit plans and delivers complex product work.\nWhat you'll own:\nA product family, end to end. Own strategy, roadmap and P&L outcomes for our private cloud, storage, and OS management product families, from discovery through launch and adoption.\nThe roadmap, with real decision rights. Decide what we build, what we defer and what we kill. Bring a recommendation with the tradeoffs, not a list of options.\nCustomer and market truth. Spend time with customers, partners, and our Sales and SE teams every month. Turn what you hear and what the data shows into clear problem statements.\nLaunches that land. Ship with Engineering on a predictable cadence, and equip Sales, SEs and channel partners to sell what we ship from day one.\nCross-portfolio opportunities. Find where infrastructure and application-hosting products combine into offers neither unit could sell alone.\nWhat success looks like:\nFirst 30 days: You know the product, the customers and the team. You have met 3 customers and shadowed Sales and SE calls, and you can explain where the product wins and loses.\nFirst 90 days: You have published a revised roadmap for your area with clear priorities and the reasoning behind them, and the team is shipping against it. At least one meaningful release is out the door.\nFirst year: Your area has moved a business number we agreed on up front, such as bookings, net revenue retention rate, or EBITDA margin. Engineering, Sales and leadership trust your calls without needing to re-litigate them.\nHow you'll work:\nYou move with urgency. You see a two-week delay as a cost, not a calendar fact. You unblock things yourself, make reversible decisions quickly, and save deliberation for the ones that can't be undone.\nYou work independently and own the roadmap. Nobody hands you a backlog. You decide what matters, write it down, defend it, and change course when the evidence says so. You escalate decisions, not problems.\nYou’re curious about customers. You’d rather sit in on a customer call than read a summary of one, and you know our competitors’ pricing without looking it up.\nYou hold strong opinions loosely. You make decisions with data where it exists and judgment where it doesn’t, and you say “I was wrong” quickly.\nYou change your language for the room. With Engineering you go deep on architecture, APIs, hypervisors, networking and tradeoffs, and you earn their respect. With Sales, partners and customers you explain the same product in terms of outcomes, price and risk, without jargon. You write clearly for both.\nYou raise the bar for the team. Your requirements documents, roadmaps and launch plans become the examples others copy. You coach other PMs informally through your work.\nWhat you bring:\nMust-haves\n8+ years in product management, with B2B infrastructure, cloud, hosting, networking or developer-platform products\nA track record of owning a roadmap and showing a measurable business result from it; you can name the number and what you did to move it\nTechnical depth to hold your own with infrastructure engineers on virtualization, storage, networking or platform APIs; an engineering or SE background is a plus\nEvidence of shipping on a tight cadence, including at least one product taken from idea to launch\nClear, concise writing for both technical and executive or customer audiences\nYou use AI tools every day to move faster: research, drafting, analysis, prototyping\n\nNice-to-haves\nExperience with private cloud platforms (e.g. CloudStack, VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, alternatives), storage arrays, AI infrastructure, or security products\nPricing, packaging or margin work for usage-based or hourly-billed services\nExperience selling through channel partners or enabling a sales and SE team\nExperience integrating products or teams after an acquisition\nIf you meet most of the must-haves and the role excites you, apply. We hire for capability, not checkboxes.\nHow We Work at Summit\nHow you approach the work matters just as much as what you do. At Summit, our core values show up in how we make decisions, work together, and support our customers.\nWe build the infrastructure that keeps businesses running. We need people who take that seriously, and have fun doing it.\nOur Core Values:\nEmpower our people\nConstant elevation\nCustomer first\nFocus on outcomes\nEmbrace curiosity\nBenefits\nSummit offers a total rewards package designed to support you at work, at home, and everywhere in between. Here’s a snapshot of what that looks like:\nFlexible Time Off (yes, really)- take what you need, we trust you to manage it\nMedical, Dental & Vision- comprehensive coverage with HSA/HRA options\n401(k) with 4% match- we invest alongside you\nParental Leave- paid time for the moments that matter most\nLife & Disability Insurance- built-in peace of mind\nWellness Support- resources for your mental and physical health\nFree Colocation & Cloud Access- build and experiment in real environments\nWork From Anywhere- remote-friendly by design\nA low-ego, get-it-done culture- come as you are, do great work\nCompensation\nCompensation for this role is based on experience, skills, and location. We aim to make offers that are fair, forward-looking, and aligned to both what you bring and where you’re growing.\nInternal candidates may see variations based on current role, compensation, and progression at Summit. Same thoughtful approach, just with additional context.\nSummit is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
