As we hold ourselves to the highest standards in accounting and prepare for the next stage of our growth, this team's work becomes more visible and more critical every year. Leading this team of 16 accountants across Sofia and São Paulo means shaping how a fast-growing, multi-entity business closes its books, and giving the people behind that work the direction and support they need to do it well.\nWhat you'll do\nLead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes for R2R, keeping financial records accurate, complete, and on time across all SumUp entities\nCoordinate audit activities and manage the relationship with external auditors to ensure smooth, timely delivery of annual financial statements\nDrive automation of postings and reconciliations, such as payroll integrations and scripted reconciliations, to free up capacity for higher-value improvements\nOwn the annual stock count process, including the first-time count of field sales inventory\nManage and develop a team of 16 accountants across two locations, setting clear goals and building a strong feedback culture\nPartner with Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Procurement, and People Ops to improve analysis, reconciliation and posting quality and support new business initiatives\nYou'll be great for this role if...\nTrack record of leading a finance or accounting team through a period of growth or significant change\nACCA or CIMA member with strong knowledge of IFRS with experience applying accounting standards to complex, judgement-based transactions\nExperience coordinating audit processes and building relationships with external auditors\nComfort working in a fast-moving environment where processes aren't always perfect and improvement is part of the job\nFluency in English, with the confidence to explain financial topics clearly to non-finance stakeholders\nWhy you should join SumUp\nOpportunity to work with SumUppers globally on large-scale fintech products used by millions of businesses worldwide, from our modern Sofia office.
