The HR Generalist will primarily support the Rockdale, IL site but will also help support the HR function in other assigned manufacturing sites. This role will partner closely with leaders to drive employee engagement and build a high-performing workforce.\nTravel Requirement: up to 25%, to other assigned locations to provide HR support\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\nEmployee Relations:\nProvide general guidelines regarding company policies, procedures and practices to employees.\nOversee employee relations issues, disciplinary meetings, and investigations, including disciplinary actions, terminations and conflict resolutions to ensure fair and consistent application of company policies.\nProvide guidance and support to management and other staff as complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodation, investigating allegations of wrongdoings and terminations. \nMay assist HR Manager with day-to-day labor relations issues and actively participate in contract negotiations for assigned unionized manufacturing sites. \nLead employee engagement and recognition initiatives.\nTalent Acquisition:\nPartner with the Global Talent Management team to manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. \nManage the onboarding process for new employees.\nCompensation & Benefits:\nCollaborate with the Total Rewards team to research and propose base and incentive pay programs to ensure competitive pay and benefits packages. \nAnalyze compensation data and make recommendations for adjustments. \nEmployee Development:\nDesign and implement employee learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.\nFacilitate training sessions and workshops as needed.\nHR Compliance, Data and Projects:\nMaintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.\nAnalyze HR data and generate reports to track key metrics and identify trends.\nParticipate in and support various HR projects and initiatives including performance management, succession planning, continuous improvement. \nManage HRIS processes for assigned areas.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field\nMinimum of five years of experience in human resources.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, an HRIS and automated time and attendance platform\nStrong Talent Acquisition experience and employee advocate mindset\nThorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nExcellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail\nAbility to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality\nAbility to make effective decisions, seek to find solutions to problems and make recommendations, work independently and understand when to escalate to management\nThis position will require some travel to other assigned locations to provide HR support\nPREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nHR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)\nProficiency with SAP SuccessFactors and WorkForce Software\nSome knowledge of labor relations and union support\nExperience supporting multiple sites\nHR experience within a manufacturing environment\nBENEFITS\nWe offer a range of market-competitive total rewards that include merit increases, paid holidays, Paid Time Off, medical, dental, vision, short and long term disability benefits, 401(k)+match and life insurance.
