The role provides support to other technical initiatives as needed for operational support and plant optimization. In addition, the role works in close collaboration with project managers and functional groups at the site providing technical support where needed.\nThe Operations Engineer will troubleshoot, observe and identify opportunities for continuous improvement of manufacturing processing, equipment, utilities and safety. Through understanding of site processes, data analysis and collaboration with Process Engineers, Operations, Quality and Safety personnel, initiatives will be presented for consideration.\nThe Operations Engineer will also lead all phases of assigned capital and/or expense projects as determined by these initiatives, site/business priorities and the capital spending budget. This includes scope development, detailed design, cost estimating, authorization request development, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and EHS Reviews. All such activities must be done in accordance with established policies and procedures. Projects must meet agreed-to requirements for cost, functionality and schedule and be completed safely.\nEssential Job Functions:\nData collection/analysis\nBasic LEAN/Six Sigma concepts\nProject cost justification\nManagement of change\nLead all phases (scope development, cost estimating, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and startup) of capital/expense projects.\nAct independently with general direction and supervision. \nIdentifies the need for and assemble/lead teams for plant optimization and operational support as required.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nBasic AutoCAD skills.\nStrong communication skills\nRequired Education and Experience:\nBS in Chemical Engineering\n3+ years experience in a chemical process manufacturing environment \nCapital project management experience\nProven history in unit operations troubleshooting and optimization. \nExperience with production optimization and process design for a broad range of unit operations, including waste treatment, solids handling, reactors, furnaces, dryers and fume scrubbers. \nStrong process troubleshooting experience. \nExperience in Process Safety Analyses. \nProficiency in Statistical Process Control principles, strategies and implementation.\nProficiency in a variety of computer applications including e-mail, inventory, production reporting and maintenance system (SAP), Statistical Process Control software, word processing and spreadsheets.\nAbility to work effectively with all levels of the organization\nValues EHS principles demonstrating personal accountability resulting in a ‘Zero-Incident Mindset’.\nBENEFITS\nWe offer a range of market-competitive total rewards that include merit increases, paid holidays, Paid Time Off, medical, dental, vision, short and long term disability benefits, 401(k)+match and life insurance.
