For more information, please visit our website at www.sunchemical.com or connect with us on LinkedIn or Twitter\nPOSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:\nUnder the direct supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Packer/Laborer is responsible for monitoring and operating manual and highly automated production equipment.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\nWorking safely, following all plant rules, reporting all near misses and unsafe conditions to supervisor.\nKeeping work areas clean and organized.\nMonitoring equipment condition and communicating any deficiencies to supervisor.\nPacking 25 kg (55 lbs.) bags (up to 600 in a 12-hour period)\nPacking 250-600 kg. bags (550-1320 lbs.) bags\nAssisting with ancillary processes (such as presses, bag filters, refeed, etc.)\nCleaning out equipment during process changes and between batches as needed. \nAssisting Production Supervisor and Dry and Wet End Operators as needed.\nTaking samples of product throughout the whole process, and maintaining sample identification.\nProper labeling of product bags to ensure product traceability throughout the process.\nAccurately filling out necessary paperwork to record process information.\nCompletes any and all other duties, as required or assigned.\nPhysical Demands:\nFrequent lifting (34-66% of the day)\nMust be able to lift up to 55lbs.\nConstant standing (66-100% of the day)\nFrequent stair climbing (3 flights, approximately 12 times per day)\nFrequent overhead reaching (34-66% of the day)\nConstant use of upper extremities, i.e. hands and arms (67-100% of the day)\nSpecial Considerations:\nAbility to safely operate forklifts.\nAbility to negotiate on grated floors up to three stories high.\n12-hour day or night shift, ability to work a variety of shifts is a must.\nREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nHigh School Diploma or GED preferred, or pass a pre-employment screening assessment.\nMechanical ability is helpful.\nAbility to work independently.\nBENEFITS\nWe offer a range of market-competitive total rewards that include merit increases, paid holidays, Paid Time Off, medical, dental, vision, short and long term disability benefits, 401(k)+match and life insurance.
