Our values shape how we work: caring, authentic, bold, inspiring, and impactful.\nWhen you join Sun Life, you'll work with passionate colleagues and empowering leaders who support your growth and celebrate your contributions, so you can make a meaningful difference in our Clients' lives.\nDiscover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world.\nJob Description:\nThe Manager, Global Tax is responsible for managing Sun Life’s Global Minimum Tax (GMT) compliance and GMT-related planning and initiatives.\nWhat will you do?\nExecute and ensure GMT compliance procedures are aligned with OECD Pillar Two regulations and Canada’s Global Minimum Tax Act \nAssist in analyzing Sunlife’s exposure to GMT top-up taxes and filing obligations across all jurisdictions, including managing filing of GMT returns globally with internal stakeholders and external service providers\nCoordinate with business units and finance teams to gather necessary data and documentation\nAssist Director and AVP with ad-hoc tax research and technical analysis in collaboration with the Global Tax Advisory team or external tax advisors where necessary\nManage documentation and evidence gathering for audit purposes\nPrepare GMT quarterly provisions including internal controls requirements\nPrepare GMT forecasts to provide accurate and impactful financial analyses and insights\nWhat do you need to suceed?\nMinimum of 4 years of progressive tax experience in a large multinational corporation and/or major accounting firm\nCPA designation required; completion of a MTax program or CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course is an asset\nStrong proficiency in tax accounting/ financial reporting under IFRS\nAptitude for process improvements which may include leveraging tech to implement automated solutions\nProject management skills that include managing internal and external stakeholders to ensure GMT filing deadlines are met\nExcellent oral and written communication skills - must be able to communicate technical information clearly and catered to various audiences/ stakeholders\nAbility to multi-task and work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment\nPreferred skills:\nSome technical knowledge or understanding of OECD Global Minimum Tax rules and Canada’s Global Minimum Tax Act, as applicable to a Canadian multinational group\nUnderstanding of the asset management and insurance business is an asset\nExperience with systems such as OneSource, SAP, and Orbitax considered an asset\nWhat's in it for you?\nThe opportunity to move along a variety of career paths with amazing networking potential\nFlexible Benefits from the day you join to meet the needs of you and your family\nWe’re committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment.
