Works closely with R&D Personnel, Quality Assurance, Engineering Manager and Senior API Engineers to ensure accuracy of design. Attention to detail is paramount. Assist in the design of chemical unit operations and management of plant utilities. Priorities include process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training. Is accountable for all facets of project including budget and employee safety.\nJob Duties\nPerforms research, design and development of manufacturing processes, including the essential assembly methods and production equipment.\nPrepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.\nManages each assigned and approved project such that it is completed in a timely and efficient manner and on budget, while ensuring that all details have been completed.\nDesigns, develops, tests or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.\nPerforms product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvement.\nRepresents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.\nMonitors the activities of all contract or staff employees completing project work to insure optimal performance while insuring all safety and engineering standards are adhered to.\nManages maintenance, repairs, and replacement of plant utility systems such as: boilers, chillers, HVAC, air compressors, RO water systems, etc.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned.\nRequired Competencies\nTechnical capacity\nStrategic thinking\nPresentation skills\nProblem solving/analysis\nCommunication proficiency\nTeamwork orientation\nEducation and Experience\nBS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university\nFive (5) years experience in engineering project management and facilities management (boiler, chillers, HVAC, air compressors, buildings, etc.)\nExperience working with contractors.\nThe presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $109,000 to $133,500. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; disability insurance; 401(k) savings plan; flexible spending accounts; and the employee assistance program.
