The role supports inventory optimization, cost accounting, financial reporting, and audit requirements through close collaboration with Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance teams.\nDuties and responsibilities\nInventory Accounting & Costing\nPreparation and analysis of various monthly financial reports for management. \nMaintain accurate inventory valuation and costing records. \nProvide costing support for site-manufactured and intercompany-purchased products. \nMaintain and update standard costs for new and existing products. \nMonitor inventory movements and identify areas of concern, including obsolescence, expiry, slow-moving inventory, and inventory losses, providing recommendations for corrective action. \nPrepare profit elimination reports and related analyses. \nPerform transfer pricing calculations, coordinate approvals with related entities, and update approved transfer prices in the system.\nFinancial Reporting and Month-End Close\nPrepare and analyze monthly financial reports for management. \nParticipate in the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and reporting. \nPrepare inventory and costing-related journal entries. \nPerform analysis of inventory balances and other cost of goods sold (COGS) expenses. \nProvide ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as required.\nBudget & Analysis\nAssist in the preparation of COGS budgets and forecasts. \nProvide financial analysis and recommendations to support operational and business decisions. \nDesign and implement new reports and tools to meet evolving business requirements. \nIdentify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements.\nAudit, Compliance, and Controls\nSupport quarterly reviews and annual audits, with a focus on inventory and costing requests. \nPrepare inventory valuation schedules and working papers for quarterly and year-end audit requirements. \nMaintain accounting records and internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards. \nInvestigate and resolve discrepancies in accounting records and inventory-related transactions.\nBusiness Partnership\nCollaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, and other departments to support business objectives.\nCommunicate effectively with internal stakeholders, external auditors, customers, suppliers, and related entities.\nProvide financial insight and support on special projects and ad hoc initiatives.\nAdditional responsibility (Only applicable to customer facing roles)\nReport any adverse event received from customers for company products to the pharmacovigilance department / Drug Safety on the same day or within 1 business day\nQualifications\nUniversity degree or college diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, or a related field. \nProfessional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) preferred.\nMinimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment. \nExperience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and financial reporting. \nExperience supporting audits and financial close processes.\nStrong knowledge of inventory and cost accounting principles. \nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills. \nExperience with ERP systems, preferably SAP. \nExperience with reporting and business intelligence tools, preferably SAP BI. \nStrong understanding of financial accounting and internal controls.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities. \nHigh attention to detail and accuracy. \nAbility to identify process improvement opportunities and implement effective controls. \nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills. \nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. \nSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. \nFlexible and able to support peak workload periods, including month-end and audit cycles.\nWorking conditions\nOffice based role\nAdditional hours may be required during month-end close, budgeting, and audit periods.\nPhysical requirements\nOffice based role\nDirect reports\nNA\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy.\nThe presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $68,000 to $85,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental coverage and the employee assistance program.
