The Project Manager establishes and maintains professional working relationships with project stakeholders, including subcontractors, vendors, clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, host facilities, and personnel from complementary Departments within the Company. The Project Manager role may oversee more than one project concurrently. This role includes responsibility for projects of increasing size and complexity based on experience and level, ranging from small-scale to large or highly complex projects.\nThis position reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Project Management Office and works closely with project managers, construction teams, subcontractors, and other internal stakeholders. This position supports projects primarily located throughout Virginia and neighboring states, with an expectation of periodic travel to project sites.\nPrincipal Responsibilities\nLeads delivery of assigned solar construction projects across all phases, from preconstruction through closeout\nManages project performance, including schedule, budget, risk, and overall outcomes, with increasing ownership based on experience and level\nDevelops and manages project execution plans, schedules, and resource strategies aligned with contractual requirements\nCoordinates and manages subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to support successful project execution\nSupports or leads permitting efforts and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal requirements\nTracks project performance against plan, identifies variances, and supports or leads corrective actions based on level\nManages project financials, including cost tracking, forecasting, invoicing coordination, subcontractor pay applications, and change order administration based on level of responsibility\nSupports or leads change management processes, including identification of risks, development of mitigation strategies, and negotiation of change orders\nCoordinates interconnection, commissioning, and project closeout activities\nLeads or supports internal and external project meetings and reporting, ensuring clear communication across stakeholders\nBuilds and maintains strong relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients\nProvides functional leadership to Assistant Project Managers and may mentor junior team members\nBasic Qualifications Required\nEducation required: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience\nMinimum of three (3) years of experience in construction or project management, or related field\nCurrent, valid driver’s license and eligibility for corporate vehicle insurance coverage\n Skills & Experience Preferred\nProject Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred\nProcore certification(s) preferred\nExperience managing projects of increasing size and complexity in construction or solar EPC environments\nProficiency in Procore, MS Project, or similar construction management and scheduling tools\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across diverse stakeholder groups\nSelf-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement and team collaboration\nAlignment with Sun Tribe’s core values: Community, Safety, Perpetual Improvement, Nature, Joy, and Respect\nCommitment to a culture of safety, accountability, and high-quality project delivery\nWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements\nSome evening and/or weekend work may be required\nWillingness to travel to project sites throughout Virginia and neighboring states as needed, typically no less than once per month depending on project assignment(s)\nMust be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching\nExposure to characteristic construction site hazards\nWearing of standard personal protective equipment while on project sites\n Compensation and BenefitsThe anticipated annual salary range for this position is $120,000 to $170,000 per year.
