We help teams say “yes” more often and help customers move forward with confidence.\nThe Role:\nWe are hiring a Director, Copywriting & Editorial to lead and elevate the written voice of Sunbit across every consumer and business touchpoint. This is a senior creative role that sits at the heart of our marketing organization, partnering closely with our Director of Brand Creative (design) to ensure our messaging and visual identity work in lockstep.\nReporting to the CMO, you will own the full editorial function: from brand messaging architecture and tone of voice to campaign copy, digital content, scripts, and executive communications. As a leader in the continued evolution of our brand tone and voice, your work will shape how millions of consumers and thousands of merchant partners experience and connect with Sunbit as we scale nationally.\nOperating in the fintech space means the bar for precision is high. This role is ideal for a senior writer and creative leader who understands that rigorous editorial standards and compelling storytelling are not in tension, but are two sides of the same coin.\nRequirements\nWhat You'll Do:\nMessaging Strategy & Brand Voice\nOwn and evolve Sunbit’s messaging hierarchy, brand voice, and tone of voice guidelines across consumer and merchant audiences.\nLead the continued evolution of our brand tone and voice, ensuring it remains distinctive, consistent, and fit for purpose as the company grows.\nDevelop clear, compelling positioning frameworks that translate complex fintech offerings into accessible, human language.\nPartner with Brand Creative to ensure copy and design are developed in tandem, with consistent narrative and visual cohesion.\nServe as the editorial authority across the marketing org, upholding consistency, quality, and compliance in all outbound communications, with a meticulous eye for detail given the regulatory standards of operating in the fintech space.\nCampaign & Content Copywriting\nWrite and direct copy for integrated marketing campaigns across paid media, OOH, digital, email, CRM, and social.\nLead content development for the website, landing pages, and product marketing materials.\nProduce and oversee blog content, thought leadership pieces, and editorial content that supports SEO and brand authority.\nWrite and refine scripts for video, broadcast, and audio formats, collaborating with creative and production partners.\nExecutive & Investor Communications\nDevelop copy for investor decks, board presentations, and executive narratives in partnership with leadership.\nSupport PR and communications initiatives with press materials, talking points, and spokesperson messaging.\nCraft internal communications that bring company strategy, brand, and culture to life for employees.\nCross-Functional Collaboration & Editorial Leadership\nAct as a key creative partner to demand gen, CRM, partner marketing, and product teams, ensuring copy needs are met with speed and quality.\nBuild and maintain editorial processes, content calendars, and copy review workflows.\nHire, mentor, and manage copywriting talent (in-house and freelance) as the function scales.\nEstablish and govern a centralized content library, ensuring approved messaging is accessible and up to date.\nWhat Success Looks Like:\nSunbit has a clear, distinctive, and consistent voice that resonates across consumer, merchant, and investor audiences, and continues to evolve with intention as the company scales.\nEvery piece of copy that goes into the world is compelling, on-brand, and meets the precision standards required in a regulated industry.\nCopy and design function as one integrated creative unit, producing work that is on-brand, on-strategy, and on-time.\nThe CMO and leadership team have a trusted editorial partner who elevates every major communication.\nA scalable editorial infrastructure is in place, with documented standards, efficient review workflows, and a growing team, that keeps pace with the company’s national expansion.\nWhat You'll Bring:\n10+ years of copywriting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead creative role, ideally in-house at a consumer brand, fintech, or high-growth company.\nA versatile, world-class writer with a portfolio that demonstrates range: brand messaging and campaign copy, long-form content, scripts, and executive communications.\nDeep expertise in developing messaging hierarchies, brand voice guidelines, and positioning frameworks from the ground up.\nProven ability to collaborate with design, brand, and marketing teams in a fast-moving environment without sacrificing quality.\nStrong editorial instincts and the ability to give clear, constructive creative direction to other writers and agency partners.\nExceptional attention to detail.
