Backed by world-class investors.\nAbout the Role\nWe're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team at a critical moment in our growth. This is a senior technical leadership role with broad influence over architecture, engineering culture, and how we build, working closely with the CTO and cross-functional leadership to shape the direction of the product and the team.\nResponsibilities\nSet the technical direction for core systems, owning architectural decisions that span multiple teams and product areas\nDrive alignment on engineering standards, patterns, and best practices across the organization\nLead complex, ambiguous projects from problem definition through delivery, often before the path is clear\nPartner with product and business stakeholders to translate long-term goals into a coherent technical strategy\nIdentify leverage points in the stack and org where investment will compound: tooling, infrastructure, process, and culture\nMentor and raise the bar for engineers across the team through code review, design feedback, and direct collaboration\nRepresent engineering in cross-functional planning, bringing a systems-level perspective to product and operational decisions\nSkills and Qualifications\n10+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of technical leadership at scale\nDemonstrated ability to own and drive org-wide technical initiatives, not just individual projects\nDeep backend expertise with strong familiarity in Node.js, TypeScript, and modern cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred)\nExperience in fintech or similarly regulated, complex-domain environments strongly preferred\nComfortable operating at multiple altitudes, able to write production code and influence system design in the same day\nStrong written and verbal communication; able to make technical tradeoffs legible to non-technical stakeholders and drive consensus among engineers\nBA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience\nPreferred candidates based in New York or San Francisco\nOn-site 3 days a week in our office\nOur Values\nThese aren't words on a wall.
