This position is a long-term growth opportunity for an ambitious, career-minded Equipment Maintenance Technician interested in a career with a major manufacturer of consumer products.\n\nSummary:\nThe Equipment Maintenance Technician is fully capable in equipment maintenance and is also skilled in related trades such as sheet metal work, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, electronics, basic pipe fitting and mechanics. He or she is responsible for diagnosing, installing, maintaining and repairing production equipment.\n\nResponsibilities:\nThe following duties are considered essential to this position. Other responsibilities may be assigned.\nInstall, maintain, and repair production equipment.\nThe Equipment Maintenance Technician plans maintenance and repair procedures. This will include power, hydraulics, electric, and electronic control.\nDiagnose problems. Determine what repairs are required and determine the equipment, supplies, and skills needed to complete the repairs.\nEstimate labor required for assigned repairs.\nRequisition or make components for assigned repairs.\nThe Equipment Maintenance Technician operates machine tools as required to install and repair equipment.\nAssist with the development of a preventive maintenance (PM) program. Suggest PM schedules for equipment and assist with implementing the plan.\nDocument all work in a neat and legible manner. Ensure that all documents are kept in accordance with department procedures.\nDemonstrate good communication skills with other maintenance technicians and with production supervisors.\nThe Equipment Maintenance Technician plans and installs new equipment machinery, wiring, hydraulics, and fixtures.\nPerform major equipment repairs using a variety of skills including sheet metal work, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, electronics, basic pipe fitting, and mechanics.\nInstruct one or more helpers. Train the helpers to improve their technical skills while they are under your supervision.\nStay informed of new technology, methods, and materials for this position.\nSupport and comply with all Suncast safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping methods at all times. Suncast policies have been developed to ensure compliance with employee law.\n\nQualifications:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requires occasional supervision. Workers exercise a moderate amount of independent judgment. They plan and arrange their own work, only referring unusual matters to supervisor. A wide degree of creativity is expected. This employee must be extremely versatile.\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak to managers, supervisors, coworkers, and vendors.\nAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. \nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form.\nBasic ability to use PC-based maintenance programs.\n\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This will have seasonal variations in temperature and humidity, most notably in summer. Noise level is moderate for an injection molding facility. This employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Safety procedures must be followed to avoid the risk of electrical shock. Safety equipment will be worn regularly. \n\nThe Anticipated Pay Range for This Position: $23.00-$35.00 hourly\n\nThe anticipated pay range listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual pay will be based on but not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Suncast employees’ equity.
