Working with senior stakeholders, you'll lead complex audit engagements, influence business outcomes, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.\nWhat you'll do:\nLead and deliver end-to-end internal audit engagements, ensuring audits are completed to a high standard, within agreed timeframes and budgets.\nIdentify and assess key business risks and controls, providing meaningful insights and recommendations that support effective decision-making.\nDevelop audit scopes, testing strategies, work programs, and audit reports in line with Internal Audit methodology and professional standards.\nBuild strong relationships with business stakeholders, risk teams, and audit partners to support effective audit outcomes and promote the value of Internal Audit.\nMonitor and follow up on audit actions, ensuring agreed remediation activities are completed and risks are managed within tolerance levels.\nContribute to audit planning activities by helping identify emerging risks and areas of focus across the business.\nCoach, mentor, and support the development of other team members, contributing to a high-performing and collaborative audit function.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives within Internal Audit, including the use of data analytics, technology, and best-practice audit approaches.\nWhat you'll bring:\nProven experience in internal audit, external audit, risk management, or a related assurance role within a complex corporate environment.\nStrong understanding of internal control frameworks, risk management principles, and internal auditing standards.\nDemonstrated ability to lead audit engagements, analyse complex information, and deliver practical, risk-based recommendations.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage across all levels of an organisation.\nExperience building trusted relationships and working collaboratively with business leaders, risk functions, and audit partners.\nStrong commercial acumen and knowledge of regulatory and governance requirements \nExperience using data and analytics to enhance audit planning, testing, and reporting activities.\nDegree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline. \nProfessional qualifications such as IIA, CA, or CPA are highly regarded.\nAbout Suncorp New Zealand:\nWe’re proud to be a part of the Suncorp Group family alongside some of Australia and New Zealand’s most trusted names in insurance - working together to bring about faster, simpler and better outcomes for our customers and corporate partners.
