If you are ready to apply your skills to the forefront of robotics innovation, we’d love to hear from you.\nWhat to Expect\n As Controller, you'll be Sunday's first accounting hire, reporting to the Head of Finance. You'll own accounting and financial operations end to end. You'll start by moving our books in-house from an external bookkeeper, then build the team, systems, and controls to support a fullstack AI robotics company as we scale Memo from prototype to production. You'll work cross-functionally with Hardware, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Software, Legal, and People Ops to set the accounting foundation for our commercial launch.\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn the monthly, quarterly, and annual close under US GAAP\n\nSelect and drive implementation of a manufacturing-ready ERP, including chart of accounts design, inventory, BOM, and costing\n\nManage AP, vendor payments, and spend controls\n\nBuild and lead the accounting and financial operations team\n\nTransition accounting from our external bookkeeper to an in-house function\n\nOwn audit readiness\n\nDesign product costing and COGS methodology, including standard costs, overhead allocation, and accruals\n\nSet accounting policy and write technical memos across revenue, inventory, capitalization, software, R&D and IP, leases, and equity comp\n\nAssess the accounting treatment of supplier, manufacturing, and compute agreements\n\nDesign and document internal controls\n\nSupport the Head of Finance on budgeting, burn, and unit economics\n\nManage outside tax advisors on income, sales/use, and R&D credit matters\n\nWhat You'll Bring\n Must Haves:\n8+ years of progressive accounting experience\n\nPublic accounting background; Big 4 strongly preferred\n\nHands-on ERP implementation in a manufacturing or hardware environment\n\nHands-on inventory and product cost accounting experience\n\nBroad technical accounting depth: revenue, capitalization, software, IP\n\nExperience leading a company through external audits\n\nTrack record of building finance processes from scratch at a fast-growing company\n\nBuilder mindset: you do the work yourself while building the team around you\n\nNice to Haves:\nCPA\n\nController or Assistant Controller experience at a venture-backed hardware, robotics, autonomous vehicle, or consumer electronics company\n\nExperience taking a company from pre-revenue to commercial launch\n\nExperience with contract manufacturers in Asia\n\nExperience with modern spend and automation tools such as Ramp\n\nAt Sunday Robotics, we’re building technology shaped by real people - curious, creative, and diverse.
