The Site Safety Manager will administer job-specific safety related training and the enforce all safety procedures to ensure the safety of the physical environment for employees and sub-contractors.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities :\nAdministers, executes and continually improves the Safety and Health Program\nManages, monitors, and conducts inspection of services for safety and contract compliance\nMaintains all safety metrics for the project\nCollects, records, reports and analyses all safety data for trends\nPerforms the role of investigative lead in complex investigation of incidents, near misses, and property damage incidents\nProvides root cause analysis by examining evidence gathered from conducting in-depth victim, casualty and witness interviews, and photographic evidence \nEnsure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and ensures proper records/documents are maintained\nKeep abreast of any safety and environmental law or regulation changes that impact the organization\nPerform collateral duty assignments such as environmental, Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO), and special topics as assigned\nParticipates in EHS site audits, inspections, and routine surveys including the developing and drafting of audit documentation\nCoordinates with others for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently and effectively\nFirst responder to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate health / safety/ security concerns\nConduct routine safety observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures and practices\nConduct daily site visits unless weather stops work for the day\nConduct written Site Audits and/or Job Behavior Observations at a frequency dictated by management and/or client\nProvides safety training to all site staff\nReports safety trends to the Project Manager and the Corporate Safety Manager\nIdentifies and mitigates all safety hazards in a practical, timely, and responsible fashion\nUses judgment and initiative in the selection, interpretations and application of guides, making compromises and adaptations, when necessary within the framework of established contractual objectives\nPerforms other duties as assigned\nRequirements:\nFamiliarity with local, state, and federal codes as they apply to all aspects of solar construction and construction equipment and tools\nDemonstrated ability to evaluate environmental health and safety related risks\nDemonstrated awareness and understanding of EHS policy and management system, the importance of confirming to EHS policies and procedures, and consequences of failing to comply with EHS policies and procedures\nKnowledge of power generation mechanical and electrical systems\nDemonstrated ability to work independently and with a team with attention to detail and organizational abilities\nAbility to travel extended periods of time\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy \nAbility to maintain an established work schedule\nAbility to interact and communicate effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures \nEffective organization and planning skills\nAbility to maintain confidentiality.\nAbility to safely drive a company vehicle\nDemonstrated ability to use standard office software programs, including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and audiovisual presentations\n\nEducation / Experience:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent (required)\nBS Degree in safety or a related field with five (5) years of construction safety experience or ten (10) years of construction safety experience.\nMust be Authorized OSHA 500 Trainer\nHave obtained OSHA 30 Certification\nAuthorized CPR/First Aid/AED Certified\nValid Driver’s License Required with a clean driving record. \nOther Duties\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job\nPhysical Demands\nThe environmental conditions for this job range from indoor activity to inclement outdoor extremes of cold, heat, wind, and various forms of precipitation.
