Join us!\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nThe Accounting Analyst position analyzes ERP and GL data to identify anomalies, trends, root causes, and process improvements, performs budget-vs-actual variance analysis, and works with cross-functional partners and IT to resolve issues. The role also supports financial reporting, account reconciliations, and the monthly close, as well as the year-end audit and compliance with internal controls and GAAP. This role will play a key part in modernizing our accounting processes by applying automation and AI tools, and supporting AI governance, to improve efficiency and accuracy.\nPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:\nSelf-starter, time management skills, good oral and written communication skills, accounting proficiency.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office is required, including spreadsheet/Excel formulas.\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records are required.\nA strong desire to identify process improvement opportunities and drive efficiency, including using technology and\nAI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.).\nExperience with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics GP, OneStream, or Power BI is preferred.\nLevel of Experience:\nThe ideal candidate will have accounting experience of 1-3 years.\nLevel of Education:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting required. \nTravel:\nPotential for 1-3 trips a year.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nAnalyze ERP/GL data to identify anomalies and trends, investigate their root causes, and partner with cross functional teams and IT to resolve them and recommend process improvements.\nHelp lead process improvement initiatives, including evaluating and adopting automation and AI tools, and support the development of AI governance practices that promote responsible, compliant, and well-documented use within the accounting function. \nPrepare and post month-end journal entries, perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner, assist with accruals and other closing procedures, and support monthly financial reporting and analysis as needed.\nWork with other departments to ensure completeness of accruals and reserves and maintain accurate records and ongoing financial quality control of workpapers.\nPerform daily cash reconciliation and reporting, entering weekly payments and routine banking duties, and assisting with insurance requests including certificates of insurance.\nAssist with the year-end audit and provide applicable support, ensuring compliance with internal controls, company policies, and GAAP in day-to-day accounting activities.\nCross-train on other accounting functions to provide backup coverage as needed.\nPerform budget-vs-actual variance analysis and provide explanations as needed.\nComplete other projects and assignments as requested.\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES\nUphold and embody AirLife’s values in all aspects of work.\nDemonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in daily work; look for ways to improve and promote quality & safety. \nInspire the trust of others; treat people with respect and dignity and embrace the value of diversity.\nUse time efficiently; perform job accurately, thoroughly, and conserve Company resources to improve profits.\nContribute to building and maintaining a positive team environment.\nAssure all policies and guidelines are implemented and followed.\nQUALITY POLICY\nAt AirLife, Quality is our promise.
