Join us!\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nThis position is responsible for the support of packaging engineering tasks related to improvements to existing products, engineering changes, packaging testing, and product line extensions.\nPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:\nThe ideal candidate for this position will have knowledge of the packaging design and development processes used for medical devices.\nExperience with packaging engineering standards and test methods.\nThe candidate will have the ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply those concepts to practical situations. \nProficiency with standard computer software.\nKnowledge of CAD software is required, and experience with SolidWorks is desired.\nTechnical writing skills are desired.\nLevel of Experience:\nA sophomore or junior year college level in an applicable engineering study is required for this packaging engineering intern position.\nExperience in packaging engineering within a regulated environment such as food, pharmaceutical or medical device is preferred. Other experience is acceptable for the right candidate. \nLevel of Education:\nThe position requires the candidate to at least be in their sophomore, junior or senior year of studies towards a bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering field. Medical Device Packaging knowledge is preferred such as PKG 452.\nTravel:\nAs the business needs.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nSupport the coordination, preparation, and testing of packaging configurations.\nSupport any activities related to packaging design verification/validation and packaging shelf-life documents per FDA guidelines.\nSupport packaging improvement projects to achieve project timelines.\nPerform and complete packaging engineering product prototyping and testing.\nAssist in maintaining Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO Compliance.\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES\nUphold and embody AirLife’s values in all aspects of work.\nDemonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in daily work; look for ways to improve and promote quality & safety. \nInspire the trust of others; treat people with respect and dignity and embrace the value of diversity.\nUse time efficiently; perform job accurately, thoroughly, and conserve Company resources to improve profits.\nContribute to building and maintaining a positive team environment.\nAssure all policies and guidelines are implemented and followed.\nQUALITY POLICY\nAt AirLife, Quality is our promise.
