The successful candidate will spend significant time on project sites supporting technical execution and troubleshooting, while also owning regulatory permitting, technical standards, training, solar design support and technology development.\nThe role will initially be an individual contributor position, with the potential over time to take on broader leadership responsibility for installation and maintenance operations.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Technical Support for Solar Installations\nProvide hands-on technical support to Project Managers, installation teams and contractors across Sunollo's residential solar projects.\nResponsibilities include:\nReview technical drawings, system specifications, rooftop layouts and electrical designs.\nProvide technical guidance to Project Managers and installation teams before and during installation.\nAttend project sites where additional technical expertise is required.\nTroubleshoot complex installation, electrical, inverter, battery or commissioning issues.\nSupport teams in resolving technical challenges relating to cabling, wiring, connections, electrical protection, system configuration and commissioning.\nReview and guide teams on technically complex or non-standard installations.\nSupport testing, commissioning and system activation where required.\nHelp ensure installations comply with Sunollo technical standards, manufacturer requirements and applicable Singapore regulations.\nAct as the senior technical escalation point for installation teams and Project Managers.\nThis role is not primarily responsible for project scheduling or overall project management. Its focus is to provide the technical expertise required to enable successful project delivery\n2. Solar Permitting, Regulatory Approvals & Documentation\nOwn the technical and operational coordination of solar permits and regulatory approvals for Sunollo projects in Singapore.\nResponsibilities include:\nAct as the primary technical point of contact for solar permitting and approval processes.\nCoordinate submissions and technical correspondence with relevant authorities and industry stakeholders.\nEnsure permit and approval documentation is accurate, complete and submitted on time.\nReview technical drawings and Single-Line Diagrams prior to submission.\nVerify electrical information, system configuration and technical documentation.\nSupport and coordinate submissions relating to applicable solar forms and approvals, including relevant CS, PV and commissioning documentation.\nEnsure technical queries raised by authorities are addressed promptly and accurately.\nWork closely with Licensed Electrical Workers, designers, Project Managers, customers and external partners to ensure smooth approvals.\nTrack permitting progress and proactively resolve technical or documentation issues that could delay project completion.\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of Singapore solar regulations, grid connection requirements and approval processes.\n3. Technical Customer Support & Reactive Maintenance\nServe as the escalation point for complex technical issues affecting existing customer solar systems.\nResponsibilities include:\nSupport the Customer Experience team in diagnosing and resolving technical customer complaints.\nInvestigate system outages, alarms, alerts, inverter faults, battery issues and system performance concerns.\nConduct site visits where physical inspection or technical diagnosis is required.\nTroubleshoot problems and determine appropriate corrective actions.\nGuide maintenance teams and external contractors on technical resolution.\nEnsure escalated technical cases are resolved within agreed service-level expectations.\nExplain technical issues and proposed solutions to homeowners in clear, simple and professional language.\nSupport customer communication where technical explanation is required.\nAssist with non-complex maintenance cases when additional operational capacity is required.\nCapture root causes and learnings from recurring customer issues.\nThe objective is to ensure technical issues are resolved quickly, correctly and to the satisfaction of the customer \n4. Preventive Maintenance Standards\nDefine and continuously improve Sunollo's technical standards for preventive maintenance.\nResponsibilities include:\nDefine the technical inspection standards for scheduled maintenance visits.\nCreate and maintain preventive maintenance checklists.\nDefine what should be inspected, tested and recorded during maintenance.\nEstablish technical acceptance criteria and escalation requirements.\nEnsure maintenance teams understand and correctly execute Sunollo maintenance standards.\nTrain external maintenance partners on technical inspection and troubleshooting requirements.\nPeriodically review maintenance findings to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.\nImprove maintenance procedures based on operating experience and equipment performance.\n5. Solar Technical Centre of Excellence\nBuild and strengthen solar technical capability across Sunollo and its external ecosystem.\nResponsibilities include:\nServe as the internal subject-matter expert for solar PV technology and electrical systems.\nDevelop technical training materials, SOPs, checklists and reference guides.\nTrain and onboard new installation teams and EPC partners.\nTrain installation teams on panels, inverters, batteries, connections, cabling, commissioning and troubleshooting.\nBuild the technical capabilities of maintenance partners.\nProvide technical onboarding for new Operations team members.\nDeliver relevant solar and product training to new Sales team members.\nHelp Sales teams accurately understand and communicate technical concepts to customers.\nCoach internal and external teams on recurring technical gaps.\nBuild a structured technical knowledge base for Sunollo.\n6. Continuous Improvement & Technical Standards\nDrive improvement across installation, maintenance and technical operating processes.\nResponsibilities include:\nIdentify recurring installation and maintenance issues.\nConduct root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.\nImprove technical SOPs based on operating experience.\nStandardise installation and maintenance practices.\nImprove commissioning and handover processes.\nDevelop technical quality standards and checklists.\nReduce installation defects, repeat visits and technical escalations.\nShare technical learnings across teams and vendors.\nKey Success Measures\nSuccess in this role will be measured through:\nQuality and technical reliability of installed solar systems.\nEffective resolution of complex technical issues.\nTimely completion of permitting and regulatory approvals.\nReduction in permitting errors and resubmissions.\nReduction in repeat technical defects and customer complaints.\nResolution of escalated technical cases within SLA.\nCustomer satisfaction following technical support and issue resolution.\nTechnical capability improvement across installation and maintenance partners.\nQuality and completeness of solar designs and Single-Line Diagrams.\nEffectiveness of technical training provided to internal teams and external partners.\nContribution to product and technology decisions.\nImproved standardisation and technical processes across the organisation.\nCandidate Profile\nEducation\nPreferred qualifications include:\nBachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering; or\nDegree or Diploma in Renewable Energy, Solar Energy, Sustainable Energy or Green Energy; or\nOther relevant Engineering qualification.\nCandidates with strong practical solar experience combined with relevant technical qualifications may also be considered.\nExperience\nPreferably 5+ years of relevant technical experience\n in areas such as:\nRooftop solar PV\nSolar EPC\nElectrical engineering\nRenewable energy\nSolar operations\nSolar installation\nSolar design\nSolar maintenance and troubleshooting\nStrong practical experience with residential or commercial rooftop solar installations is highly desirable.\nTechnical Knowledge\nThe successful candidate should have strong knowledge across several of the following areas:\nSolar PV system design\nSolar
