Summary:\nAseptic Filler I - Night Shift (Basic Knowledge - 90 Days) - this role's responsibilities include:\nOperations of the Aseptic filling machines and machines associated with the fillers.\nEnsuring the quality and efficiency standards are being met through reduced scrap loss and yield improvements.\nAssuming responsibility for the filling area efficiencies, safety, quality following all GMP and PPE requirements for the safety of others and oneself.\nEffectively communicates verbal and written information relevant to the position at the site.\nFilling in for vacations and/or cover if other employees are absent.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nCoordinates, Sets-up, CIPs, Swab Tests, Monitors, and Operates Aseptic Filling Machines to maximize the quality of products produced and the efficiency of the department.\nMaintains a clean and organized working area keeping all supplies and materials stocked and set-up for success when the next shift comes in to relieve you.\nBegins to assist with routine maintenance on all filling machines including working with and communicating with Maintenance and Management.\nRelieves other production team members for breaks and absences as required.\nPerform a variety of quality checks (weight checks, machine checks, sterility checks, package integrity checks) to assure standards are met.\nTroubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties involving area equipment.\nAccurately prepares and completes all area paperwork with legible handwriting as required by the FDA.\nWork with Management team to monitor the operational efficiencies, yields, scrap loss and other key indicators to actively seek ways to improve plant productivity.\nWork area must always be kept audit ready.\nWear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when required.\nAll other duties, as assigned.\nKey Accountabilities:\nSafety:\nAdheres to all plant safety rules.\nReports all near misses and accidents to the production supervisor and or HR representative.\nServes an active role the plant safety programs, by participating in monthly safety inspections and reporting any potential safety hazards to the safety committee or Management.\nQuality:\nAdheres to all Quality Assurance System guidelines.\nFollows SOP’s and SSOP’s (standard operating procedures and sanitation standard operating procedures) when making processing adjustments, to ensure the manufacturing of high-quality liquid-based products.\nResponsible for compliance with the GMP's, HACCP and SQF programs.\nIdentifies all critical control points understanding their functions as it relates to the filling process.\nMaintenance:\nWhen maintenance is occurring in your work area, it is the expectation to assist the Maintenance Technicians in any capacity needed to expedite the repair process.\nWhen equipment is in a state of disrepair these items must be reported ASAP to avoid break downs.\nHousekeeping:\nMaintains a clean and organized work area.\nAssists all areas of the plant with general housekeeping.\nCooperates with other shifts and the management team in the housekeeping endeavors.\nCommunications:\nAs a member of the Production team, ensures the effective shift communication and teamwork with the other operators occurs each scheduled shift.\nMaintains effective communication with members of the support group.\nWhen utilizing the handheld radios, employees are expected to be professional and respectful when communicating.\nTeamwork and Training:\nPromotes and contributes to the development of a strong team.\nWorks well among co-workers as a team.\nAssist in coaching and training employees as requested by the management team.\nPersonal Development:\nContinuously improve your knowledge of the Aseptic Filling process.\nBecome familiar with SunOpta 360.\nCompletes and adheres to the Annual Alchemy Schedule.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nNone.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or Equivalent.\nBasic math skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nWorking knowledge of business, computer and math.\nMechanical and troubleshooting skills.\nKnowledge and Skills:\nThe candidate must be able to work effectively in a team-based environment, set priorities to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks, and make decisions under pressure.\nMust be able to stand (12) hours for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds frequently and push/pull pallet jacks and lifts with heavy loads frequently.\nMust be able to go up and down stairways in a timely manner repeatedly throughout the shift.\nMust be able to keep a good attendance record.\nMust have accurate and detailed record keeping and legible handwriting.\nMust be able to troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complex issues.\nUnderstands all procedures with all allergens.\nMust follow all GMP's and Safety Procedures established by Management.\nAbility to access a situation and make quick and accurate decisions that will aid in production.\nMust be able to work around major allergens.\nMust be able to climb/walk steps frequently.\nAdditional Considerations:\nLocation: This position will be at the SunOpta Plant in Midlothian, TX.\nShift: This position will be on a Night Shift, 2-2-3 pattern; 6 pm to 6:30 am.\nAvailability: Some flexibility may be needed on occasion.\nPay Rate: $25.80/hour.\nShift Differential: $2.00/hour for working 12-hour night shift on 2-2-3 pattern.\nWork Environment: This position will be in a production / manufacturing environment.\nPhysical Demands: This role may require lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75
