This transition brings together the strengths, expertise, and shared commitment to making clean energy simpler and more accessible for everyone.\nPosition Summary:\nThe Quality Control team is a highly trained group of designers and technical specialists that plays an essential role in the solar installation process. The Quality Control Technician is the main point of contact for Regional Installation Managers and Installation crews with design related questions, and they will be expected to communicate directly with our field employees, sales reps, customers, and Design team to troubleshoot installation issues in the field and coordinate in-office work to keep the installation on track. Quality Control Technicians are also responsible for triaging all failed final inspections, calling out and scheduling correction work, and verifying completed corrections.\nEssential Duties:\nMake same day and immediate installation changes (layouts, interconnections, etc.) \nIdentify the root cause of common issues in the field and problem solve to prevent reoccurrence \nEnsure specific field work types are completed correctly (MPUs, Roof Assessments, etc.) \nAnswer phone calls quickly and professionally - with great customer service \nMake informed decisions to maximize solar potential on residential projects \nCommunicate clearly with coworkers in office and in the field to ensure high quality solar installations \nCreate as-built permit applications for submission in different jurisdictions \nCorrectly diagnose inspection failure causes and identify needed corrections \nEfficiently coordinate between customers and field resources to schedule correction work \nReview all correction work to verify completion before requesting a reinspection \nEffectively use the available software: CRM, Excel, Site Capture, AutoCAD, Aurora \nMinimum Qualifications:\nHas at least a high school diploma or equivalent \nExperience in any CAD software \nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel \nSelf-motivated \nCommunicate effectively, professionally, and kindly with coworkers and customers alike \nMultitask, manage time well, be organized, and stay busy with work-related tasks \nBe a go-getter who is willing to take on initiative/responsibility, solve issues, and create results \nCommunicate well with people of varied backgrounds and ability levels \nLearn, track, and follow up on details \nTake responsibility for individual and shared tasks \nBe resilient when faced with challenges \nSuccessful track record of continued professional growth \nDemonstrated ability to learn new computer and technical programs quickly \nKey Competencies:\nAt least one year of customer service experience \nExperience in AutoCAD preferred \n2+ years experience in the solar industry or 1+ year experience in PV design preferred \n95%+ attendance and schedule adherence, request time off in advance, does not miss excessive work due to sick/personal days \nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Regular periods of sitting or standing may be required by this position. In addition, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
