The Parent Educator will work collaboratively with a team of other home-based staff to implement the Parents as Teachers Born to Learn model for children 0-36 months (or another curriculum as appropriate) to achieve outcomes for children and families of all backgrounds and abilities.\nRESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES (including but not limited to):\nRecruits and determines the eligibility of children from underserved populations.\nMaintains a waiting list for eligible children.\nDevelops an individual plan for children and prepares lesson plans.\nImplements developmentally appropriate learning activities and supports parents to provide a consistent routine.\nEstablishes positive relationships with families and identifies their needs and goals.\nRefers families to community services and coordinates with community agencies.\nParticipates in family events, developmental screenings, and required professional development activities.\nMaintains child and family data for documentation and evaluation.\nPlans and implements all socialization activities for families and children.\nUnderstand and document in-kind contributions and other allowable costs.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:\nMust be able to lift 40 pounds including files, laptop computers, lesson plans, home visiting supplies, or other necessary items with or without material handling equipment.\nMust be able to work for long periods of time while maintaining concentrated attention to detail.\nMust be able to sit at a table or desk for long periods of time with occasional standing, walking, squatting, or reaching. \nMust be able to travel by car, bus, airplane, or train for job requirements, training or program activities as needed\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.\nQualifications\n Education & Work Experience\nMust have a minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent). \nMust have at minimum Child Development Associate credential for Home Visiting (CDA-HV) or willing to obtain one within an established time frame provided by Program Manager and must maintain credential throughout the entire length of employment.\n PreferredAssociate Degree (or Higher) in Social Work, Family Services, Counseling, or another closely related field is preferred.\nPrefer 1-2 years of case management experience.\nBilingual (English-Spanish) speaking and writing skills preferred.\n\nSkills & Abilities\nMust be at least 21 years old, have held a driver's license for at least 3 years, and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment.\nAbility to read, interpret, and apply policies and educational materials.\nEffective communication skills both verbally and in writing using English.\nStrong organization and time management abilities with attention to detail.\nBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, & Excel) and other software applications.\nActive listening skills with the ability to ask questions for clarification.\nFlexible schedule to fulfill job functions and program responsibilities.\nAbility to work effectively with diverse populations, especially parents of children in SCF's programs.\nTeam player with the ability to work independently and apply knowledge of EHS program policies and procedures.\nOther requirements include acquiring CPR/First
