Sunrun is a residential solar, battery storage, and home energy management enterprise. The company provides rooftop solar panel systems, home battery backup solutions, and energy service management through direct purchase, solar subscriptions, and long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs), alongside integrated virtual power plant and grid services. Headquartered in San Francisco, California, it operates across the United States as a leading direct-to-consumer provider of residential clean energy and storage infrastructure.

At Sunrun, we’re on a mission to change the way the world interacts with energy, and we’re building a company and brand that puts power at the center of life. To do it, we’re designing a dynamic culture where employee development, well-being, and safety come first. It’s why we’ve become the #1 home solar and battery company in America. We’re unlike any other residential energy company. Our vertically integrated model gives us total control over every part of the energy lifecycle - from sale through installation and beyond - so you can find endless opportunities for growth. Come join a career you can grow in and a culture you can run with.

Who We Are

We’re on a mission to make energy more reliable and affordable for more people. We provide an opportunity with storage and solar to help people access greater energy independence without the big upfront costs. Sunrun is the largest dedicated residential solar and storage company in the country and has a mission to bring stably priced resilient power to the masses.

As the nation’s largest residential Clean Tech company, Sunrun is on a mission to transform our energy system into a modern, sustainable grid of the future while making clean, renewable energy accessible to all households.

Sunrun is leading the transition by building Distributed Power Plants (DPPs) and Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) out of home solar and battery assets. Within the Grid Services Revenue Operations & Account Strategy organization, we bridge the gap between technical software capabilities, utility market structures, and profit realization. We are actively hiring world-class talent to operate multi-million-dollar portfolios across open market bring-your-own-device programs, utility bilateral VPPs, competitive energy markets, and next-generation DER offerings (including EV charge management and bidirectional V2X technologies).

As the Northeast Regional Delivery Lead, you will own the operational execution, financial yield, and strategic utility partner relationships across the Northeast footprint-from Maine down through New York, and New England. You will act as the commercial and operational quarterback for a multi-megawatt portfolio, collaborating across Data Science, Product & Engineering, BD, Policy, Marketing, and Customer Excellence. If you thrive on (1) solving complex technical and market optimization challenges, (2) managing multi-million-dollar revenue portfolios, and (3) navigating complex utility integrations, this role is for you.

NORTHEAST LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work within a regional operational team to lead the P&L performance across active open market bring-your-own-device programs including: ConnectedSolutions, CT Energy Storage Solutions, and NY DLC / Pilot Programs.

  • Serve as the primary operational relationship owner and subject matter expert for Northeast utility partners (National Grid, Eversource, O&R, PSEG-LI, etc.), and program administrators.

  • Direct all contractual and regulatory compliance, reporting SLAs, conditions precedent, and monthly/seasonal settlement reconciliations to ensure 100% revenue capture.

  • Ensure technical cohesion with third-party DERMS administrators to streamline program entry and direct integrations.

  • Prepare program operations for next-gen capabilities, including locational delivery, solar sponging, target power commands, and automated dispatch output curves.

  • Collaborate with BD and Policy to showcase performance within existing programs, evaluate regional expansions and new program designs, define operational modeling, customer analytics, and program boundaries.

  • Oversee customer participation journeys, POS T&Cs, and care agents for new customer enrollments, and new product launches.

  • Establish reporting metrics for internal leaders and external reporting requirements and advocacy needs.

TARGET ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Month 1: Familiarize with Sunrun's Northeast Regional Programs, including data architecture, dispatch mechanics, and regional battery control strategies. Take operational ownership of the ConnectedSolutions programs (MA/RI), CT Energy Storage Solutions, and initial NY utility programs.

  • Month 2: Establish working relationships with utility leads (including Eversource, National Grid, Connecticut Green Bank, O&R) and lead recurring roadmap syncs with EnergyHub. Operationalize summer 2027 technical feature builds.

  • Month 3 & Beyond: Assume full P&L oversight for the Northeast regional portfolio. Act as the primary operational SME supporting BD on new contract originations, program launches, and platform productization.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience: 5+ years of Program/Project Management experience within energy markets, utility demand response, Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), or Distributed Energy Resources (DERs).

  • Domain Knowledge: Proven understanding of behind-the-meter (BTM) storage assets, DERMS platforms, utility tariff structures, and ISO market mechanics.

  • Technical & Data Skills: Strong analytical capabilities; proficiency in Google Workspace, Salesforce (CRM), and basic SQL/data manipulation preferred. Ability to translate technical data anomalies into actionable business logic.

  • Financial & Commercial Acumen: Comfort managing program P&Ls, contractual obligations, and multi-variable financial risk.

  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management and presentation skills; comfortable representing Sunrun in front of utility executives, vendors, and regulatory bodies.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
