Automation Technician

Job summary:

The role will support the Applied Controls Solutions Department with technical capabilities in the construction of automated systems primarily focused around robotics and industrial vision systems. Support/manage the on-site installation of industrial equipment. Fulfill customer requirements for Factory Acceptance Testing of the installed systems.

The Position will provide high level of mechanical and electrical capabilities in the construction of Applied Controls Inc. system solutions. Required to build and wire automation systems to the specification of the system design. On site installations with potential multiday travel will be required as needed. Regular customer communication to ensure clear expectations. Strong willingness to learn new hardware and software as ACI continues to build its hardware portfolio. Display commitment and passion for the success of all assigned product lines and programs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the construction and wiring of Applied Controls solutions based on system design.
• Ability to read and modify electrical schematics.
• Intermediate 3D CAD for system and component level design.
• Basic programming of industrial hardware.
• Maintaining a working knowledge of all ACI hardware portfolio.
• Managing on-site installations and required customer communications.
• Providing full Factory Acceptance Testing as outlined in initial project scope.
• Capability of learning on the job and adapting to requirements.
• Flexibility to fulfill requests as provided by manager on a timely manner.
• A high level of customer communication and interaction will be necessary to ensure clear communication during projects.
• Project management skills.
• Work within a team to solve new problems as they arise.
• Working knowledge and experience in manufacturing.
• Managing on-site installations.
• Capability of learning on the job and adapting to requirements.

Qualifications:

• Three years of industry experience
