The purpose of this job is to accurately and efficiently receive warehouse stock and ship all merchandise related to the distribution function of the company and serve as a company representative, promoting the reputation of United Central Industrial Supply in a positive manner.
Primary Functions
- Perform assigned tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, receiving and storage of merchandise, picking and packing of customer orders and stock transfers.
- Perform inventory cycle counts as requested and physical inventory as scheduled.
- Keep supervisor informed of shortages, overages or damaged merchandise and unresolved customer complaints.
- Verify accurate count of incoming or outgoing materials and merchandise.
- Maintain accurate open and closed purchase order receipt files.
- Promptly report any major differences in book quantities versus actual on hand quantities of merchandise.
- Promptly report stock runs or stock outages to immediate supervisor.
- Promptly report vendor over shipments or duplications to immediate supervisor.
- Ensure the integrity of data entry on the receipt of goods process.
- Assist manager in the safeguarding of inventory against pilferage or theft.
