This role reports directly to Senior Engineering & Maintenance Manager.\nRole Responsibilities\nMission of Role: \nThe Senior Controls Engineer will lead and advance the Frankfort plant’s controls and electrical capabilities to improve equipment reliability, safety, automation, and operational performance through strong technical leadership, continuous improvement, and effective execution of maintenance and capital projects.\nThese are the essential functions of the position but are not limited to these activities:\nDirects all controls, electrical and process maintenance improvement initiatives in the Frankfort plant\nAssists with all controls integration of new and existing equipment installations and/or modifications at the Frankfort plant\nAssists with planning & directing of maintenance specialist - electrical work\nOrganizes, prioritizes & supervises controls related projects and assigns tasks accordingly to the Controls Engineering Technicians\nDirects & manages goal and development plan for the Controls Engineering Technicians\nRuns, manages & directs CAPEX projects as necessary\nCoordinates and assists with electrical PdM execution with controls technicians and maintenance team\nWorks with the maintenance team to ensure all regulatory and compliance PMs are completed within guidelines\nCoordinates with maintenance department to schedule work as necessary and updates and implements preventative work plans\nProvides all necessary permits for safe work (hot work, confined space) for related work\nManage and supervise contractors on all relevant projects\nCoordinates with the maintenance & engineering manager to ensure adequate adherence to budgets\nWorks with storeroom supervisor and department supervisors to ensure critical spares are kept for associated equipment\nUses SAP to prepare Purchase Requisitions for necessary materials as necessary\nWorks with reliability engineers to develop standard operating procedures for maintenance tasks\nRegularly audits PMs to ensure adequate capacity planning\nAll other duties as assigned\nQualifications\nQualifications & Experience:\n7+ years’ experience in an electrical and/or controls engineering field \nPreferred bachelor’s in electrical engineering \nStrong electrical aptitude and experience with low voltage circuity (480V)\nMechanical aptitude and understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems\nComputer literate - preference to SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint\nStrong technical knowledge in maintenance crafts, possesses mechanical inclination, understanding tools, various equipment\nGood organizational skills\nAbility to work well under pressure\nStrong interpersonal/communication skills \nCompliance with standard operating procedures, legal and other requirements including health and safety, fire protection, environmental, quality, security and continuous improvement programs is a requirement of the job.\nUnion environment experience preferred\n Physical Requirements\nAbility to work flexible shifts and weekends as needed and access all plant areas, including climbing ladders, stairs, and other physical activities; ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Possess a valid driver's license, for driving to remote plants. Must be able to walk moderate distances - up to one mile. Must be able to tolerate extreme heat and cold for short periods of time.
