You will be responsible for responsible for developing, designing, and delivering quality software to meet business objectives. \nYou will be an authoritative source on everything software-oriented, be a major player in key initiatives, and work closely with the Development and IT teams to ensure mutual and collaborative success. As a Lead, you are expected to spend the majority of your time facilitating and ensuring the success of the team, rather than always being hands-on in the code. \n\nWhat You’ll Do: \nDesign and Implement code, setting a very high standard for the team\nBe comfortable explaining, analyzing, and understanding Functional and Technical Requirements, and how it maps to coding\nWork closely with technical leaders in the Design process of Technical Requirements and Solutions, and drive certain areas in the Design\nCreate prototypes, draw diagrams, analyze existing code, and research external sources\nProduce exceptional quality code which has minimal defects, is robust, extensible (future proof), and has some focus into performance considerations (scalability)\nAble to drive API design when called upon, and comfortable with a Micro-services-oriented Architecture\nHave a strong knowledge in Database concepts and Database table design, including normalization patterns and performance tuning\nBe comfortable working with external third parties on integration work, including interactions, coding, and consuming/(and potentially questioning) solutions and documentation\nUnderstand, follow, and provide feedback/identify areas of improvement in the Sunwing SDLC practices\nParticipate in Team Scrum activities such as Sprint planning, Sprint review and Sprint retrospective, and lead/drive when necessary to assist the processes\nResponsible for Code reviews and providing feedback when Code is not correct or up to standards\nAssist testing processes and provide knowledge sharing with QA team\nTake initiative in Software documentation and assisting others in Documentation writing\nTake Initiative whenever something appears to “not be up to par”\nKnow inside and out the Shared Technical guidelines for Best Practices, and provide feedback on process and practice where it can be improved\nEnsure and uphold coding standards and Best Practices\nHave a solid understanding and knowledge of the larger Sunwing technology stack (breadth and depth)\nBe comfortable interacting, communicating, and sharing ideas with both technical and non-technical minded personnel\nKeep up with technology and technology trends, and be able to work with Architecture to come up with new ways of solving problems\nProvide assistance in areas of Support interacting with areas the Developer is familiar with, and potentially areas beyond (potentially after normal working hours)\nBe able to quickly troubleshoot problems in the areas the Developer is familiar with, and works around (i.e. the larger group’s software portfolio), including the infrastructure landscape\nIdentify issues, develop, and maintain processes that address and resolve them and communicate/alert stakeholders, as needed.\nBe extremely comfortable with all areas within the Technology and Infrastructure stack, and know the right questions to ask to isolate and resolve a problem, and come up with logical plans for resolution\nEnsure that the Team is able to deliver on their work, and assist in areas where they are facing issues or hardships\n\nWhat You’ll Need: \nMinimum 3 years of experience in ecommerce, commercial operations, travel, airline, or tour operator environments.\nWork is peer-reviewed, minimal supervision and guidance is expected\nStrong problem solving ability within areas of familiarity, and able to grasp concepts quickly in areas not super familiar with\nBeing a key driver in impactful outputs and major initiatives is expected, working with Senior IT leaders\nFlexible work schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends. \nWhat We Offer:\nHybrid Work Opportunities.\nGrow your career with challenging and rewarding work that makes a difference.\nOpportunity to give back through our social responsibility initiatives.\nWork with a fun, passionate, travel-loving team!\nGreat travel perks!\nFree parking.\nOpen-concept, collaborative workspace.\nSee for yourself!
