This job will primarily consist of regional vehicle operations involving positioning and moving trucks and trailers on and between our farms, retail facilities, and commercial/residential properties.\nEssential Functions\nOperate company-owned and leased trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.\nOperate trucks for the delivery, pickup and relocation of farm products and materials.\nPerform required before-, during- and after-operation “user maintenance” and provide required reports.\nProvide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.\nOperate all MHE or Material Handling Equipment.\nMaintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.\nMaintain and protect all property in excellent condition.\nPerform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nCompetencies\nTechnical Capacity.\nCustomer/Client Focus.\nEthical Conduct.\nTime Management.\nLeadership.\nProblem Solving/Analysis.\nSupervisory Responsibility\nThis position requires personal time management and scheduling. \nWork Environment\nThe employee will be expected to work outside in all weather conditions and must have suitable clothing. They must have the ability and willingness to work in adverse conditions, not just including extreme weather but enclosed spaces and heights up to 80 feet. The employee will be expected to work around and with machinery that distributes loud noises and exhaust. Personal Protective gear is provided by the employer. This position does require handling and operating of heavy equipment which may introduce a high risk to slips, trips and falls.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nCompany drivers are required to sit and steer for long periods of time while having the ability to coordinate several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while operating a commercial truck. A driver will be expected to operate forklifts used for loading and unloading sod and other farm and retail products. Drivers must be able to get in and out of their trucks multiple times throughout the day as well as on and off forklifts multiple times each day using three-point contact. Must have adequate leg, foot, arm and hand control to climb into cab, operate foot controls and safely navigate vehicle through traffic and weather.\nPosition Type and Expected Hours of Work\nTypical work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though actual days and hours may vary at the discretion of the Regional Driver Manager or Logistics Director.\nDuring the harvesting season (typicallyMarch through September):\nSaturday work may be required, usually from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.\n\nWeekly hours increase, averaging 55-60 hours per week instead of the standard 40.\n\nPart-time roles may be considered and are subject to discussion and agreement between the driver and manager.\nTravel\nTravel is primarily regional interstate hauling during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and evening travel may be expected.\nRequired Education and Experience\n2+ years proven experience in commercial truck driving required.\nClean driving record with no major or excessive violations within previous 3 years\nMust possess valid Class A CDL and Medical Card, including muti-state certification status.\nMust pass background check and drug test.\nSkilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles.\nAlert, focused, and detail oriented.\nPhysically and mentally fit.\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.\nPossess great physical stamina and focus during long driving shifts.\nAble to operate electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.\nProficient using GPS and other routing systems.\nMap reading and route planning experience.\nAn innate sense of direction.\nSelf-starter who works well independently.\nDisciplined, dependable, and resourceful.\nHigh level of composure and good stress management.\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\nTotal Earning Potential: \nAverage: $1,635+/week (Annual total: $52,000 - $100,000+)\nTotal Comp Breakdown: \nBase Weekly Pay Range: $1,000 - $1,200/week\n(Based on experience, license class, and route)\nAdditional Weekly Compensation: Drop Pay: $50-$1,000/week\n(Based on the number of completed daily drops)\nQuarterly Safety Bonus:\nEligible for a bonus equal to 10% of total quarterly base pay + drop pay earnings, based on incident-free driving, inspection results, and safety compliance.\nOther Perks:\nAll drivers are W-2 employees\nDrivers working 30+ hours per week are eligible for benefits including Healthcare, 401K and flexible PTO\nPay is reviewed annually and may increase with tenure and performance\nDriver Pay Range\n$961—$2,000 USD\nOTHER DUTIES:\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
