Working closely with the Controller, accounting team, and branch leadership, you'll help strengthen financial controls, streamline accounting processes, and provide meaningful insights that support informed business decisions.\nMaintain Financial Accuracy & Integrity\nManage assigned balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.\n\nSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.\n\nPrepare journal entries, accruals, financial schedules, and supporting documentation.\n\nInvestigate accounting discrepancies, identify underlying causes, and implement lasting solutions.\n\nReconcile cash, receivables, payables, inventory, fixed assets, payroll liabilities, and other general ledger accounts.\n\nAnalyze financial statement fluctuations and communicate significant findings to the Controller.\n\nPartner with branch personnel to ensure accurate inventory records and financial reporting.\n\nSupport compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company accounting policies.\n\nStrengthen Financial Controls & Processes\nEvaluate accounting procedures and internal financial controls across corporate operations and branch locations.\n\nIdentify financial risks, process inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.\n\nConduct accounting reviews, transaction testing, and financial process evaluations.\n\nDocument findings, recommend corrective actions, and follow through to ensure improvements are effective.\n\nSupport external accountants and auditors by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses to information requests.\n\nPromote consistency, accountability, and sound financial practices throughout the organization.\n\nImprove Systems & Reporting\nServe as a key accounting resource for Sage Intacct, helping maximize the effectiveness of our financial management system.\n\nIdentify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and reduce manual processes.\n\nEvaluate financial reporting structures, transaction coding, and system integrations to improve accuracy and consistency.\n\nTroubleshoot accounting system issues and coordinate solutions with internal teams and external support partners.\n\nAssist with testing, documenting, and implementing approved system improvements.\n\nDevelop and maintain reliable financial reports using Sage Intacct, Microsoft Excel, and related reporting tools.\n\nTurn Financial Data Into Meaningful Insights\nPrepare and analyze financial reports for individual locations and the organization as a whole.\n\nEvaluate revenue, gross margins, operating expenses, inventory trends, and working capital.\n\nProvide actual-to-budget and prior-period comparisons to help leadership understand business performance.\n\nSupport budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial planning initiatives.\n\nDevelop and improve management reporting dashboards and key performance indicators.\n\nUtilize Microsoft Power BI, where applicable, to create financial dashboards and reporting tools that support business decisions.\n\nCollaborate with accounting and operational leadership to translate financial information into practical recommendations.\n\nQualifications\nWhat We're Looking For\nOur ideal candidate is a skilled accounting professional who combines strong technical knowledge with curiosity, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement.\nYou enjoy digging into the details, solving problems at their source, and finding better ways to get things done. You're equally comfortable working independently, collaborating with colleagues, and explaining financial information to individuals outside the accounting department.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with substantial accounting coursework, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification and relevant experience.\n\nMinimum of 5 years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, or audit experience.\n\nHands-on experience with general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end closing.\n\nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial accounting principles.\n\nExperience evaluating internal controls, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.\n\nExperience improving ERP-based accounting processes and financial reporting.\n\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, data validation, and Power Query or comparable data transformation tools.\n\nExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively across departments.\n\nHigh level of integrity, accountability, professionalism, and confidentiality.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nActive CPA license strongly preferred; CMA or CIA credentials are also valued.\n\nHands-on experience with Sage Intacct, including financial reporting, dimensions, workflows, and process improvements.\n\nExperience developing and maintaining Microsoft Power BI dashboards, including Power Query, data modeling, and DAX.\n\nExperience in both public accounting and corporate accounting environments.\n\nAccounting experience within a multi-location organization, particularly vehicle dealerships, distribution, inventory, installation, or service operations.\n\nExperience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and KPI reporting.\n\nExperience leading accounting improvement projects, reviewing financial work, or training colleagues.\n\nWhat Makes This Opportunity Different?\nAt Superior Van & Mobility, our accounting team does more than manage numbers.
