Hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses rely on Superloop and Exetel every day for their connectivity needs.\nVisitwww.superloop.com to learn more.\nBusiness Unit Overview\nThe Smart Communities Team are responsible for the delivery, management and support of Superloop’s wholesale fibre-to-the-premises and smart community solutions.\n\nRole Purpose\nThe role of the Operations Engineer provides engineering engagement to BNSC systems and infrastructure and escalated assistance for the BNSC project and support teams.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nAct as an escalation engineering point for the escalated support team, project delivery and field services teams.\n\nLiaise with customers, suppliers, vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of faults and enquiries.\n\nConfigure and maintain wireless environments\n\nMaintain and Support WAPs and other layer 2 network infrastructure\n\nIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement.\n\nAssist with new or migrate existing services onto newly installed infrastructure.\n\nTake ownership and complete allocated tasks/projects/activities to agreed timelines or client SLA’s.\n\nParticipate in the 24x7 on-call roster system (if required).\n\nRespond to “P1” outages as an escalation point (when required)\n\nConduct proactive maintenance activities.\n\nDocument and maintain network infrastructure and configuration.\n\nMaintain optimal network performance through continuous monitoring, reporting and diagnostics.\n\nWilling to undertake lab testing, fault finding and streamlining of network systems, technology, and hardware.\n\nMaintain software-defined configurations for network appliances and hardware, maximizing standardization across the equipment fleet.\n\nWorking independently with setting and achieving suitable goals aligned with the role.\n\nEnsure compliance with laws and Superloop policies and procedures, including but not limited to privacy and WH&S.\n\nAbility to work without supervision, individually and in a team environment.\n\nExcellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.\n\nQualifications and Experience\nAll round general experience in networking or IT related role.\n\nSound knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 networks.\n\nSound understanding of ethernet switching technologies.\n\nSound understanding of IP routing and forwarding.\n\nSound understanding of wireless technologies, radio frequencies and coverage zones\n\nStrong customer service ethic.\n\nAbility to travel internationally with a valid passport.\n\nAbility to obtain working with children check and/or Blue Card.\n\nAbility to obtain successful police check suitable with the position of working in areas of Education, Defense, Government, Large Enterprise and Residential settings.\n\nAbility to meet WH&S requirements as stipulated by the organization or our customers - such as vaccinations, white card or other reasonable licenses.\n\nDesirable - Degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent experience to the same level.\n\nDesirable - Experience in maintaining large-scale Wi-Fi and FTTP, FTTB and fibre technologies.\n\nDesirable - Experience working with Ekahau suite to design and survey wireless networks.\n\nDesirable - Industry certifications or experience relating to switching, routing and wireless technologies (such as Aruba/Ruckus/Juniper/Cisco).\n\nTime management and the ability to organize resources and meet deadlines.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate to people in a range of positions.\n\nKey Deliverables\nTake initiative to bring project ideas to the team for the overall improvement of the network.\n\nEnsure that all escalations are acknowledged and dealt with as per OLA timeframes.\n\nMaintaining networking and operational standards across all internal systems and documentation.\n\nIncident management, manage outages, communications and events as per SLA.\n\nMaintain a reasonable level of responsiveness across all SLC communication mediums.\n\nPromote and participate in a learning environment to encourage up-skilling across the BNSC Engineering and support teams.\n\nOn Offer\nQuarterly Superstar Awards -
